Just some of the lowest form of humor ever and people in my theater were absolutely dying at everything Deadpool said. I’m glad they kept it to 2 hours length wise. Funniest joke for me was the proposal

Gonna spoiler tag this since I caught an earlier screening.

Overall, this was fine. A fun time in the theater. Really enjoyable but a couple of the big action sequences were kind of a mess. Cameras moving too fast and a lot of cuts. But that’s not exactly an uncommon thing for the MCU.

I somehow avoided hearing that Snipes and Evans would drop in. Nice surprise there.

Wish we could have had more time with Laura and this Logan. Or at least more with DP and Vanessa. I think the lack of much there kind of holds it back for me. Needed a bit more substance in that aspect.

I also found the first act to be a bit dry outside of the opening fight.

Now after really getting to see the Wolverine mask in action, I don’t like how it looks. Maybe it’s the whites eyes? Not sure. I don’t hate everything about it. Just feels a bit off.

Love Elektra dismissing Daredevil being dead.

I’ll have more thoughts as time goes. Overall, a fun time.

I feel you on a lot of that. To be honest, the more I think about this, the less I like it.

    Spoilers too:

I haven’t watched the previous “Deadpool” movies since they were in theaters. But I remember liking “2” the most, mainly because of Colossus.

My problem with this is basically any time the movie get any momentum, it’s completely undercut by a fourth-wall break by Deadpool to say how maudlin or shitty the scene is or he has to make a pop culture reference. And on top of that, you can’t spend three movies making fun of the Fox Marvel universe and then have a sentimental Fox tribute set to “Good Riddance.”

This is going to be a weird analogy, but it reminds me of what Conan says about having a bad interview on his show. His goal was always to get through it and don’t acknowledge something is going bad because it completely deflates the energy of the audience. They’re there to have fun and they’re having a good time and once you say it’s bad, it kills the mood.

The people seeing this don’t need to be constantly reminded something is a trope. Like, it works in the first act because we’re being eased back into the world of Deadpool. But when it’s still happening as good guys are being destroyed, then who cares?

Like, I understand it’s a dumb comedy and no one should think about it too hard. But when there’s no stakes to anything and the humor just leans heavy on people being called “insert bodily secretion” with “swear word” plus “food or object,” then I’m just left wondering where this movie kind of lost me.

I really did like the cameos. Evans was a funny misdirect. Tatum was pretty good. Was nice to see the others. The “I’m the only Blade” joke was good.

The last act was very bad. It should have ended with the big Marvel fight. You know it’s getting too long when Deadpool has to acknowledge it.

Still - I had a good time with a big audience. I just wish it actually had some kind of wit or sharpness to it. It has like five or six writers- it can’t be that hard to do it.

Also, the woke mob joke was the laziest, most toothless shit ever.

Snipes’ Blade was my favorite. Really hoping Keen’s X-23 makes it to the MCU. Tatum’s Gambit was good to finally see.

So does this mean that Happy knew who Deadpool was during Avengers: Endgame but we are just now finding out about their meeting?

Both referred to it as the Sacred Timeline, so I’m assuming it’s the same Happy and Avengers from the MCU films. He just never cared to tell anyone that he had met Wade Wilson.

Had a lot of fun with this. Great cameos, more heart than expected, and some good jokes. About what I expected.

It was fun, but the final act kind of over stayed its welcome a little bit.

Gambit, Blade, and X-23 were awesome to see return. I think the film would have been better if it ended after Cassandra let Deadpool and Wolverine leave the void.
Overall it’s an 8/10 for me.

Had more fun than I thought I would in spite of my better judgement. It’s just so empty and I would say 9 out of every 10 jokes bombed for me. But that 10th joke would give me a big laugh. Probably will never watch or think about it again but I had a nice night at the movies in a crowd full of nerds having the time of their lives. And yea a couple of those cameos got me. I am not immune

They should have let us sit in the emotional moments with Logan for longer periods of time. There were moments where I felt like it cut to abruptly to something else not even for a joke but to just keep hurrying along. I was more into them letting Hugh Jackman cook and reflect on the last 25 years of his career as opposed to another completely toothless action scene

I guess they think that if the movie you made sucks, but you recognize it sucks and make jokes about the fact it sucks as much as the recent films have sucked, then it sucks less? Being self aware doesn’t make it any better than the most recent garbage that came before it.

Same. Half of me thought they would have went the other way and toned it down but nope just way dialed up. Horrible choice

It was enjoyable enough. Kinda messy. Don’t really see how it ties into anything going forward but maybe that’s a good thing

Which largely sums up The Multiverse Saga! It's just been one aimless hodgepodge which they'll hopefully start to fix with The Fantastic Four kicking off Phase 6 next summer.

I just can't imagine Captain America: Brave New World or Thunderbolts pushing forward whatever the main story arc of this particular Saga is supposed to be, as they seem like the type of films that Disney/Marvel Studios wouldn't have greenlit once they started producing bombs and had to change their way of going about business on both the film and television side. Reemphasizing quality over quantity should hopefully make a difference in both areas by the end of next year.

The same goes for Agatha All Along and Ironheart over the next year on Disney+ as it does for the two films mentioned above. Maybe they'll be fun, but I doubt they would have been greenlit in this new environment, nor will they likely push the overarching story forward.

Daredevil: Born Again feels like it has the best chance for high quality on the TV side over the next year since they basically restarted production from scratch once they started falling into a hole both critically and commercially.
