After knowing what we now know about Trump, Hansen will probably just wait backstage at the next Miss Teen USA pageant and surprise Trump there. That's his usual MO, after all.

Just saw this, from a Trump rally in July. "Worth a thousand words" and all that.

It's just great because, like, each kid is embodying the two most common/sensible reactions to the concept of a Trump presidency: trying to get away and literally freaking the fuck out about it.

I got bored and searched "twitter" on reddit and the amount of posts that came up from the_donald about how the government is censoring the truth by shutting down twitter is alarming. I know I'm not breaking any ground here but these people are legitimately crazy. This is a mental health issue.

i may get better but we won't ever get well Prestigious

reddit and fb have been pretty complicit in all of the shit of this election cycle. there is certainly a narrow road to walk of being the mediators of information without censorship but the amount of misinformation that's been spread on those media is truly staggering

(aside) @Dominick, I had meant to post something similar to Ben's a few days ago re: Frank Wilderson's AMA. I'm working through Patterson right now, and I've read through or saved what you've linked from Frank. I seem to frequently be running into a sort of disconnect between what I know of Marxism and where Frank is coming from. I know he commented on this on the one episode of Against the Grain and I'm not sure what I'm having a hard time with. I know he mentions Fred Moten on the philosophy side of things and also a bunch of authors in one response:

I was just wondering if you had any suggestions for other works to approach while trying to dive into his essays and books.

I tend to shy away of connecting Trumpism to mental health because while I agree that psychology, that is to say conditioning is largely responsible for the supporters' mindsets, we can't blame the mechanism of conditioning. It's inherent to our minds. We should blame structure responsible for the conditioning. And also as someone who has struggled with mental health issues and is keenly aware of many shortcomings with how those issues are handled by social, medical, and political groups, it really sucks imagining sharing a waiting room with multitudes of racist, sexist, anti-lgbtiq+ assholes who feel like their views are more valid now. My two cents at least.

Good point. I never thought about it like that but it was a lazy go-to. It's difficult to process and articulate the levels denial and hypocrisy.

It's like, we don't even know who to be more worried about, Giuliani as AG or Gingrich being the chief diplomat. Going from John Kerry to that is like trading in a Cadillac for a Ford Pinto.
