Seeing democrats cave to pressure from actual voters for once in our lives is nice. Can’t remember the last time this has actually happened in recent history?

 

Most discourse from the left seems measured in that there is some excitement that Biden is gone even if it means Kamala is the nominee but I think people understandably would have at least liked a chance to uh maybe vote for a democratic nominee but now maybe have a convention where people make their case based on policy. We won’t get that but it’s still worth pointing out that this process is fucked and nobody really voted for Kamala Harris and we don’t even know what she would run on

 

But they didn’t cave to pressure from voters - they caved to the pressure of donors (see that Clooney piece). Voters expressed concerns in significant numbers about Biden+his age for months if not years prior to this.

Dont get me wrong, I’m glad Biden’s dead. But this wasn’t a victory for or by the party’s grassroots and i think there’s danger in cutting the Dems any slack at all.

Obviously you have a good point with the donors pressure likely being the main driver. But I do think that many of the members of congress who called on him to drop out is because of the voters calling their office and demanding it. Several of them said it was because they listened to their constituents concerns with Biden being on the ticket. So I do think that the voters pressure played at least a portion of the role in this.

 

did they? Or was it big donors pulling out. Though I’m not ruling out the fact that he’s just stuck in bed and terminal rn.

I think I told people here a while back that back during the 2016 campaign one of my friends whose a boss babe girl power liberal types invited me to join that Pantsuit Nation FB group, and I honestly forgot I was still in it because it’s never posted in anymore for obvious reasons. Well, that shit is on fire right now

This would have NEVER worked obviously with Biden. This gives a chance and glimmer of hope if done right she could help get the young vote which was 100% missing for Biden.

Just keep targeting that audience until November

 

Pretty sure ultimately you’ll have to give young people some hope on student loans and Palestine if you actually want votes. I don’t think people are showing up to vote because they laughed at a meme
