Also another looney presidential assassin though had to be Charles J. Guiteau. To put it in 21's century terms he was a lifelong failguy that devoted his life to being a diehard republican Garfield supporter and poster. He wrote a post that barely anybody read that he thought was so good and important that it got Garfield elected. When Garfield didn't give him a job in his administration for being a loyal poster for him he put a couple revolver shells into his gut.

History is a lot easier to relate to when you realize that politics posters have existed for hundreds of years. We just used to call them leaflet or newsletter writers, and they were exactly the same type of people they are now. Benito Mussolini was another poster.

Actually a Guiteau like scenario where this is an extremely online mentally ill Trump supporter that feels irrationally slighted for some arbitrary reason isn't out of the realm of implausibility.
