If we're really stuck with him, then the key to winning has to be about Project 2025.

 

If he doesn't drop out, he WILL lose.

 

That's literally not a certain conclusion, just highly likely. If it really does become about Project 2025, and the fact that it's so unpopular that even Trump has to distance himself, then we don't know how this thing can turn.

 

Team "has never gotten to vote in a competitive primary" here. Well that's not actually true because Delaware was part of Super Tuesday in 2008. I honestly can't remember if I voted in that as it was my first presidential election at the time and I was juuuust starting to get into politcs.

 

The problem is we have a lot of time between now and November for him to look like he did at the debate on the national stage again. And if/when that happens again, it will erase any other issue or campaign topic all over again. So yes it's possible to change the trajectory, but can it be sustained with a candidate this damaged by his age? Seems....very doubtful

 

I absolutely agree. I guess I just meant it in the context of, if this is something we're truly powerless over - we might as well really continue fighting to the end, and really hang Project 2025 on the necks of Republicans as much as possible, and more importantly - way more publicly than we have thus far.

 

Project 2025 is being spun as just reducing the administrative branch’s role in our everyday lives and passing the savings on as tax breaks. And with Trump disavowing it I just don’t see how it’s going to be made a centerpiece in the election. The only people I see talking about it as a threat to democracy would never consider voting for Trump or staying home.
It would sure be nice if the dem candidate could run on some policy that could get people excited though. “Other guy bad” from someone who can no longer articulate why is not going to be good enough imo

Biden is like that one anime character that absolutely insists on cooking even though they are terrible at it and it all comes out purple and glowing so everyone has to fake a stomachache at the same time or dump it in a houseplant when he's not looking.
