do you guys have any gaming monitor recs? moving into a new house this week and finally getting my own office. I was contemplating getting a new TV for the wall, but might just go the gaming monitor route because I was looking into getting a better monitor for work anyways.

From everything I've seen, ~27'' and 4K UHD is probably the best bang for your buck. I don't want to spend more than a couple hundred.

 

I got a 27 inch 4k monitor last year for about 500 but I’m not at home so I can’t see what it is but I know for sure it’s an msi and I got it at micro center

 

Is this for console or PC gaming? You’d prob want more than 60hz refresh rate for a gaming pc monitor

 

Why do you need to watch tua under throw receivers in 4k?

 

If you're on PC, you're better off getting a 1440p monitor with a high refresh rate, especially if you play multiplayer games. Personally, I think 4K only really makes sense if you want a good HDR experience and you're most likely going to get a better one on console anyway. If you are on console and you don't care about HDR much, then a 1440p free sync monitor is a good choice. They tend to be cheap and well within your budget.

But if you want a good HDR experience, you're probably gonna have to fork out a bit more since it works better at higher resolutions. Also, HDR400 is kind of a joke. HDR600 is the minimum I recommend to people. If you can find one with HDR600 around that price, then it'd be the right choice if it's reviewed well. But if you have to compromise, then HDR400 will have to do. The monitor you linked seems to be the one for you to get if that's the case.

I also like the Samsung M7 as it has smart capabilities, but it's also only 60hz

 

It's weird HDR support on windows is still so crummy

 

If you plan on playing at 4K, then you can only run higher than 60hz if the display is HDMI 2.1 compatible. If it only has a 2.0 compatible HDMI port and you want to run your games at higher than 60fps, you'll have to set your console to display at lower than 4K.
