That seems to be the consensus. Mikel is big on flexibility, so him being a CB and LB is probably a big bonus. Makes me think a LB is leaving though.

We currently have Zinchenko (also plays CM), Timber (also plays RB), Tomiyasu (also plays CB and RB), and Kiwior (also plays CB and DM).

  2. No CL and already having solidified starters at LCB and LB always made Calafiori a long shot for Spurs. But hoping we still make a last ditched effort before he goes to Arsenal.

How about cash + one of Tomiyasu or Zinchenko for Onana? You could even sell Partey, then, which would no doubt make a lot of folks happy.

Why doesn't Southgate drop Foden or Jude and have Toney up top with Kane? I feel like that "risk" would be an easier one to come back from and then just go back to what has been done all tournament.

do different federations not recognize player bans? i know he hasn't been suspended yet, but, assuming it happens eventually, can you really just jump ship to somewhere else in the world?

Zinchenko is one we’re willing to let go apparently, so that could actually happen.

Sneaky feeling the Netherlands might do it. Spain or them, for me.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

A quick Google of some articles suggests that FIFA could choose to also ban him. Either way, suggests his career at the top level is probably done. I wouldn't be shocked if any Premier League/FA findings get extended worldwide by FIFA. You don't want someone who is proven to be fixing matches in anything you're affiliated with.

Had a bit of a debate with a colleague today regarding Everton's new stadium/new stadiums in general. Essentially, we discussed how enticing they are in regards to attracting new players. Does it come into a players thinking? Obviously money talks first, but what about the stadium they play at? I was wondering if the Arsenal and Spurs fans in this thread would share their thoughts as both of those clubs play at state-of-the-art facilities. Do you think you stand a better chance of attracting players specifically because of your stadiums?

  14. I think it definitely helps in some ways. I’m pretty sure Bergvall said he was intending to sign with Barca, decided to visit Spurs, flipped his decision after touring the stadium and facilities and housing they’d have ready for him. I’d imagine if wages and bonuses are comparable, then the facilities can sway a player.

I’d say it probably makes a difference if the clubs are similarly matched.

Say Everton and Wolves go in for a player, I think both are reasonable lower midtable teams based on recent seasons. Obviously location is massive, but if you had equal offers on the table I imagine the new facilities make you think of the club as more modern and ambitious.

But it definitely doesn’t mean you’d choose Everton over, say, Brighton or West Ham. Teams who have been a better side with less chaos, and a recent history of playing in European competitions.

The USA-Klopp posts got me thinking, and actually there's probably more of a chance that Southgate might go there after England.

I think Pochettino could be a shout for the US. Can imagine him feeling fairly jaded about club management after the Spurs dismissal, PSG and Chelsea fiascos.
