I really can't decide the outcome of that one. I know well enough to not ever expect anything good. I would assume they'd kick the can on it rather than rule. Their other option would have to be tailoring the opinion so that Biden (the sitting president) doesn't also get immunity. A weird needle to thread but I am sure there is fuckery about.

 

“Current presidents don’t have immunity from what they’re currently engaging in as President, but former Presidents can’t be held responsible as a private citizen” or some shit. As Republicans in the senate say it shouldn’t be an impeachment thing it should be a criminal court thing. Good times!

The debate is going to be a depressing shit show, and yes, I'll be watching because I hate myself. Biden might have a better grasp of the issues than Trump, but what really helped him in the previous debates was less that than the fact that Trump came across as mean in addition to being as unhinged as ever, which I suspect will have only gotten worse for tonight's debate.

I don't think it is correct or helpful to say that anyone who has questions about biden's cognitive abilities has been tricked by deceptively edited tiktoks - people have serious concerns

yes, the other side is obviously playing them up in an aggressive and deceptive way that in some cases makes them appear worse than they are, but that's just the dirty game everyone is playing

It’s normal to have questions about the cognitive abilities of any 81 year old, but there are people out there who are convinced Biden can’t get through a sentence or knows where he is. That only happens if your only info inputs are dumb 10 second clips that go viral on social media lol

This feels like an intentional responsive plan to what will inevitably be a shit show of a debate for Trump tonight. He’ll perform badly and then the next day and on into the next week the right leaning Supreme Court will enact legislation that Trump loving conservatives will respond well to like “see? This wouldn’t be possible without our guy!”
