I do headphones with music only and just go into an alternate headspace, it's weird. Only for like 3 hours max though, maybe 4

 

I had two really short flights last month and I made sure I started a movie right as I sat down so I could see the entire thing. You have to take time when you get it.

 

95% of the time I fly southwest so movies aren't an option anyway

 

I have 14 beers in the airport, throw on bon iver and fall asleep

 

Music is all I need on a flight

 

Last flight I played a trivia game with some Canandian girls on their Ipad, they called me a history guy because I was able to recognise cartoon versions of Stallin and Mao.
On the way back I sat next to a man who was going through legal papers, it was a on ruling from a case in the 80s and he was making notes on it from passages marked in his bible.

 

Yeah, Bon Iver would put me to sleep, too.

I think most of my mid year list would be horror because that's all I've managed to go watch/decided to prioritize the last few months, but I did really enjoy Challengers a lot

I think I’ve only seen one actual 2024 release this year, the rest have been 2023 ones I’ve caught up on or streaming older movies on my bucket list.

Why does every blockbuster like this look like absolute shit? Like, not even the quality, but why is it so colorless and dimly lit?

 

I won't be surprised if a 85 to 90% of the film was shot on the volume in a sound stage. Surprised its getting released in cinemas and not streaming.. maybe it did well enough with test audiences that they thought.. let's release it cinemas instead of streaming.

 

$250 million budget huh

I love The Rock since his wrestling days and as actor/entertainer but between the Black Adam bs which the budget for that went overboard to $260 million and now the budget for this has been rumoured to be $250 million.. although Amazon have denied those rumours but we'll see but if its true.. then his team around him making those insane decisions need to go.
