He’s definitely a much better player with his Madrid midfielders behind him. And in his actual position. Two things he doesn’t get with Brazil.

 

Nicky Bandini made a very good point on Football Weekly today.

The reason the final group games are ran simultaneously is so that no one has more knowledge than anyone else of how to get through.

But she points out that this “best third place” thing actually means the later you play (group e & f for example) allows you a better chance theoretically, as it means you actually can settle for a draw if it suits both teams. Which earlier teams wouldn’t be able to do.
