    It's been definitive since 2011.
He's been spotted filming and someone freeze-framed the trailer and found Jon in it
With this, all someone has to do is wait to see who doesn't show up. If we can easily find out the shooting schedules of minor characters, there is absolutely zero chance that it doesn't leak when talking about someone like Yuen or Reedus or Cudlitz. Though the premiere will likely be record breaking just as Game of Thrones worst season was their best as far as awards go thus affirming these shitty storytelling practices for the showrunners.

Also, what do they even mean the actors don't know? Someone is out of a job.

    I'm Back.

How about this for a theory.

I think that during the 6A finale, the "death" of Glenn was used as a test for the audience. Our reaction would have steered the writers into actually killing him in the 6B finale, or not. Since people weren't really throwing too much of a hissy fit, they went through with Glenn's death AGAIN, and checking to see the fan's reaction.

Most people seem to be pretty stuck on the fact it's Glenn, from the audio clip theories to the POV clips during the entire episode from one of the people in the truck. But realistically, there isn't anything stopping the writers from changing who died (if they even know as of now) based on the public response.

I'm bored with Carol. Can't remember what happened with her character in the comics.

If you're referring to the books, dude, weak. If you're referring to some blurry image of a dark haired guy in the background of an action shot, that's not what I would consider definitive.

Yeah, I think one of us doesn't understand the meaning of the word after all.

I mean, they show him on set filming. And then a freeze-frame of him in an episode wearing the clothes he was filming in. As for the books being weak, that's just absurd. There has been foreshadowing since the first book that Jon is one of the most significant characters in the series, if not the most significant.
Though I suppose you are proving me wrong in one way.

I am entertaining the possibility that the showrunners and writers don't know who was killed yet. This would explain how the actors don't know. Paraphrasing Scott Gimple's Hollywood Reporter interview: "the choice of person who is killed is the start to the story of the next season", Which to me sounds like a load of crap and that they simply haven't decided how exactly to start the next season.

I can't believe they are stupid enough to think this cliffhanger will work as a ratings gimmick, given that it is already one of the most watched shows on television is probably already saturating their potential market. The only thing this accomplishes is the alienation and frustration of current viewers to the point of losing interest and totally ruining one of the most climatic events in television fiction history. My wife, who went to school for broadcasting and film, says that it could also be a contract negotiating scheme.

I'm so angry. I rewatched the ending this morning, and instead of having a pounding-heart, edge-of-my-seat attachment, it just seemed stupid, given that I know that it is a cliffhanger. Secondly, there is no way the resolution to this cliffhanger will not leak before next season's premier and that it will be spoiled for me, just like that moment in Star Wars: The Force Awakens was spoiled for me by an AP.net forum post one week before the movie's wide release.

However, in order or likelihood, I think the chosen one is

    1) Eugene: that goodbye moment between Rick, Abraham, and Eugene was just too out of place and weirdly inserted into an otherwise smoothly-flowing narrative to be anything other than blatant foreshadowing. Furthermore, Eugene is a good choice given that he is an important enough character to make a statement, but not a fan favorite. It's a shame, since I always thought his character was nuanced and interesting while providing pseudo-comic relief in a non-sickening way.

    2) Glen: the person that gets it in the comics. Also, implying his death earlier in the season could have been an audience-reaction test. I think this is far less likely though; the way he lashed out when Negan threatened Maggie but then was not immediately beaten is just too weird of a way to do it. Plus, I think this choice is almost too obvious and not cliffhanger-worthy.

I can almost rule out Carl and Rick, given what Negan says about "cutting the kid's eye out and feeding it to Rick if anyone moves or speaks". Also Carl and Negan's relationship is a pretty big part of the comic narrative. I might be able to make a few more likely rule-outs if I re-watch the eeny-meenie-miney moe, because it is probably not the last couple people shown.

  9. The comic is so fun and addictive. Remove most of the bullshit from the show and you have the comic. Characters are also much more likable in the comic, specifically Andrea. Bums me out when characters die in the comic. The show, not so much.

Yeah, the comic is great. And it's a good thing I read the Governor story line after I saw it on the show because I was just mad how tame the show was in retrospect.

  11. This lines up with the show's timeline, but you could call it a comics spoiler:

When Negan meets Rick in the comic, he says something like, "You're the leader and you only have one hand? You must be a badass." Or maybe it was Jesus who said that. Either way, I love comic Rick.

One of the shows directors says there filmed another version of Negans speech with swearing in it for the Blu Ray.

'You have a second version of this scene with Negan-like cursing, right?
We had to shoot two versions — we had to shoot the Blu-ray version, which had a lot of the swearing and a lot of Negan’s colorful language, and then we had to shoot the broadcast version. So when you get the DVD or the Blu-ray version, that will have the full Negan speech from the graphic novel.'

I honestly didn't miss the fucks at all, it was plenty intense without. And it'll be weird if he just swears the whole time through that scene and then never drops a f-bomb again.

Just watched the ep and my heart was pounding so fucking fast in that buildup, more than any tense moment in any show/movie I'd watched previous, only for it to be honestly WASTED?!

I haven't read the thread back yet but I'm finding the page where you guys were posting last night & am gonna enjoy some of the reactions lol.

I agree, my heart was racing in the lead up to that moment, probably more than when watching any other tv series/film

It's possible the scene was filmed and they filmed multiple death scenes, one for each character, and that's truely why the actors don't know.

Season 7 opening scene needs to open with the same bat sounds as it ended with, then immediately shows whoever got it's head mashed like those photos that one Saviour had on his wall. It cannot cannot CANNOT open with any sort of time jump. With all the actors doing so fucking well in that scene they had to have filmed further on than the death while everyone was "in the zone", as it were.

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

Yeah, I buy that they filmed numerous deaths and finished that whole setup. I know nothing about tv productions but that seems ridiculous to set up that whole scene and then get it all set back up for when they start season 7. If they haven't already? Like I say I know nothing about that stuff haha.

And yeah, it has to pick up immediately where it left. That'd be horrendous if they didn't. But I wouldn't be surprised! They do not care one bit about the fans at this point.

haha, I would say there's no way in hell they'd do a time jump and skip the reaction but I'd have said the same thing about this cliffhanger.
