I hope you know I'm joking. but my point was mainly that I think some teams are desperate to keep these guys for way too much money right now, but that's probably just a product of the expanding salary cap than anything else. like it makes me sick we're paying THJ damn near 20m a year to shit the bed during the playoffs.

 

It's a tale as old as time, though. The problem is, these bad/"small market" teams always have to overpay to keep their talent and/or sign someone in FA. This ain't changing any time soon

 

Toronto isn’t getting a player like him through free agency, it’s the only bet they can make with the hand they were dealt.
