We don’t look great. But Bolivia look terrible. So as long as we keep control and score a couple more, great start.

Question for US supporters, would you take a rough showing at this tournament if it meant getting in a better coach for the WC?

These are some of the only truly competitive matches we’ve got before 2026, so I think I want us in as long as possible.

They don’t give cards for regular pull downs to stop counters in Copa?

Yeah this makes me not interested in crashing out for a new coach. i still like marsh a lot despite his luster being dimmed the past few seasons, but he’s locked in north of the border.

Lalas saying Reyna was invisible? It might not have been his best performance but there was a 15 minute stretch in the first half where he seemed to be on the ball nonstop. Hardly invisible

Not entirely sold on Gregg, but he’s also won like almost every tournament we’ve been in under him except one or two.

I think if a better option had been on the table during the interim period after the WC, we’d have gone that way.

Just watched our match against Switzerland. Definitely our worst match so far, and Tah missing the next match is a huge blow. I am still pretty sceptical about Schlotterbeck, he hasn't really convinced me in the national team so far. And Rüdiger also seemed to have a problem with his thigh in the end. That would be a disaster if he cannot play the next match.

Also, what was that ref performance? The foul against Maxi Beier was a stonewall penalty, why does the VAR not call the ref to review it at least? And Havertz could have gotten two penalties as well, not as clear, but very debatable. I get it, the ref let many soft fouls pass, but then he called back our first goal because of a soft foul in the buildup, that didn't even influence the subsequent play. Very inconsistent.

And yeah, Thursday were fucking great. I'm glad they're back. And I even managed to get home this time without getting to know the score of the game.

    It's all hell.

Hoping Gordon comes in for Foden as well, because two players trying to play as a ten is not working.

Of course Southgate makes the most vanilla boring change possible.

I was trying to describe myself to someone

Yeah, this doesn't feel the right switch to me. Drop TAA to the bench, pull Bellingham back to the centre with Rice, Foden central and then Gordon on the left.

I honestly wonder whether we would have been better off with our older 3-5-1-1 formation.

Smart decision by the club, this. Always good to get more experience in the coaching staff, and I trust Ruud to be the inevitable interim manager a whole lot more than the other option of McLaren.

We’ll be struggling to beat Slovenia and going out in the next round then.

Reminder, if we come second in the group, we play Germany.

I think we need one of Mainoo/Wharton to play ideally if Southgate is wed to the way we played with Phillips. Rice has been playing essentially as a left 8 all season so to give him all the defensive responsibility would be a gamble. I have literally no idea what Gallagher is going to bring in apart from run around a lot and look busy, (although I am a certified Chelsea hater, and hope he proves me wrong lol)

Interesting. Don’t know enough about David to have an opinion on this. But just feels like he’s linked to every PL club each summer. He has a year left on his deal so this is probably the year he finally moves to a new club.

  25. Kamada to replace Eze. Nusa to replace Olise. Not bad business from Palace if they get it done.
