There are plenty of MP3 players on the market that you can put one or more micro SD cards in, some of them you can get up to like 256gb with 2 micro sd cards. They're not as good of an all in one solution as an iphone though, not sure how important that is to you.

ugh, i'm not sure i can wait that long, haha.
still think i'm leaning towards getting a refurb 2015 MBP. i need the 500 gigs of space too for my music (though if I really try i could spend a long time and replace all my MP3s with apple music stuff). 8 gigs of ram is going to be so nice, my computer right now is still at 4 haha

Not important at all. An Mp3 player that I could put an sd card in would be absolutely fine. Are there any in particular that have a good rep?

This is admittedly not really my product category, I'd check amazon reviews and the like. Quick googling says maybe Filo or Sony branded stuff might be good, just make sure they support larger size microsd cards, some are limited to 64GB cards

Haha the Magic Trackpad 2 is at $129 still with the addition of force touch, so could definitely see that as being a very expensive keyboard!

So a little tip if anybody is in the same situation as me...

My ipod headphone jack had something tiny wedged in it, basically impossible to get to and get out. It also stopped the headphones going in, so I couldn't use it.

I took it to the Apple store and they said there's nothing that could be done, unfortunately it's broken and you'll need to buy an itouch or iphone as mentioned above.

I then took it to a watchmaker, he fiddles about with the jack with his tools for 2 minutes, removed a tiny bit of plastic and fixed it, free of charge.

What's this that I'm hearing about wireless charging for iphone 8? That would've been awesome to have on the 7. Not being able to charge while listening to something is really fucking up my workday :crylaugh:

i'm doing some productivity app buying. i'm looking at fantastical because its been on my wishlist for a while, but now that i look at the feature set i don't notice much difference anymore from the stock calendars.app, can anyone who uses fantastical over calendars.app tell me why/benefits over stock app? i see reminders, but i use omnifocus for that.

The natural language processing in fantastical is the main feature. I got a job recently and wanted to add my work hours to my calendar so people on my shared calendar will know I'm not available and I just typed in "Work 8:30 to 5:30 every week day" and it set it up for me. I also have my night classes blocked out and to enter those I did "Night class Tuesday night 6 to 8 repeat weekly until January" and it set up an event with that time blocked out every tuesday until the end of december (when the semester is over)

@Jason Tate can you link me to/do a write up of your current productivity workflow when you get a chance? i.e. what you use different apps to do - calendars, omnifocus, due, etc.

Yeah I think with the Belkin one, it is only capable of reaching up to 60W of power, where the 15 inch MacBook Pro battery is at 76W or something like that.

Looking at getting a May 2015 15" MBP. For someone who uses it mainly for social media, internet and a little bit of photo editing, would the 2.2GHz/16GB model be enough or should I spend the extra $100 for 2.5GHz?

Let's hold our breath until we disappear

    Don't spend the extra $100.

Unless screen size is your selling point, I think the 12" MacBook would be fine for your needs.

Yeah, I prefer the bigger screen. Just wasn't sure if the step up from 2.2 to 2.5 was necessary.

This is exactly what I have. It's perfect. I haven't had any issues or ever wished I got the 2.5 and I do light photo editing sometimes.

I don't like that menu that you slide up when the phone is locked. It moves sideways now so I can never get my finger to hit the brightness/volume just right. I thought it was fine when it was stationary. Not digging the music layout now, either. again, more screens and clicks to go through than before. It makes me want to not change music in the car because it's more time spent looking at the phone.
I realize these are petty complaints. I was happy with with the last version and I wish I'd left it alone.
