  1. 1. I never signed up for these emails.
    2. To unsubscribe you want my full name and zip code? Seriously? fuuuuck off.
    3. "Fill out this form to unsubscribe" can choke on a bag of rocks.
    4. You can just click submit without filling it out, so it's just a dark pattern to get you to enter more information in their system.

    This shit should be illegal.

when I’m serving tables people will ask me questions without even glancing at the menu themselves. Hell I’ve had entire groups of people sit down look at our menu and get up because they didn’t like anything or it was too expensive

I mean, if I know where I’m going I’ll check it out first. But on a road trip? Eh. More likely to just roll in and go for it.

Like at the very least I’ll glance at the menu in the window to make sure I dig the overall vibe

Or it directs you to their take out menu that's hosted by some sketchy third party that asks you 6 times to write your autobiography for them so you get a coupon code you can't use.

Can't tell if serious, but I will sometimes look up a menu to get an idea of what I'm in for. Most times it's with my family though, in which case it's not like I can opt not to go, so blind or not doesn't really matter.

    Trusted

this is my #1 way to sabotage people I don’t like.
This guy backed into my car, with a backup camera and me honking at him, while I was still. It did absolutely no damage, but he was such a dick so I demanded a police report anyway and wasted 90 minutes of his beach time. Then I had his email and signed him up for all sorts of shit. While he will never know it is me, it allows me to remember that incident fondly.

I might glance at a menu, but most of the time if I'm trying a new place it's on the recommendation of someone I know so I will just ask them what it's like before deciding if I want to go.

It took me and my parents like twenty minutes yesterday to decide where to go eat Friday night. We literally all just kept throwing out suggestions saying “that sounds good” without anyone settling on one. It was maddening.

This is why cars need rear horns and egg launchers

A little bit, yes, but also I'm stuck looking at a screen most of the day and when I go out to dinner I don't want that.

Did you give up and decide to just stay in and watch something on streaming instead?

My mom and I are both very much "go with the flow" and that ends up becoming:

    "What do you feel like?"
"I dunno, what do you feel like?"

I was homeschooled for four years. While I have many complaints about it, at least my mom actually took the time to teach me how to read, write and do math.

This woman doesn't seem like she's much smarter than her child.

I also want to know where these people are sending their kids to school that they come home exhausted every day. My kids walk a little over half a mile to and from school each day and are there from 9-4, but still come home full of energy pretty much every day.

Any time we take a trip I make a google doc trip itinerary so I have my meals planned out with links to the menus ready to go when I arrive. I would collapse if I had to "just go for it"
