I want piano driven songs from the guy who plays piano. That’s all. Nothing nostalgic about it. House In The Trees is a perfect example of how to bring that style forward. More of that.

To be fair, it sounds like you've heard the full songs, and we're just speculating on what the rest of them sound like.

Surely you can empathize with "I am stoked for this to happen, but that clip was not what I expected from a SoCo reunion"

If the first clip from a new Starting Line song sounded like Vacationer, it'd be the same situation, even though I love both.

 

I fundamentally don't think the clip doesn't sound like Something Corporate featuring AMITW in 2024. The Starting Line and Vacationer sound like very different bands; I do not think the same is true for Andrew's projects.

 

There’s only two new songs coming out. And last I heard, only one is considered SoCo. But the labeling of them may have changed since I heard that.

 

Played “I Woke Up in a Car” with Dashboard Confessional tonight at the Bonnaroo Emo Superjam and it was an incredible moment in time

Same reason why that boring Trolls song that Nsync did was billed as "Justin Timberlake, Nsync." AMITW has more spotify listeners/followers than Soco, its just a way to get it on more people's Release Radars.

 

Well, no, it's actually different from that. Songs like the NSYNC song, the Silk Sonic album, Better Oblivion Community Center, countless other "supergroups" etc, like that only tag the song as such on streaming services to artificially boost streams when it shows up on their streaming pages. The billing of those songs are still just to the one artist, if you buy physically, see key art, promo etc, its just the artist together.

In this case, the actual billing is AMITW + SoCo, not just Something Corporate with Andrew being tagged on streaming

 

Seems like it will just inevitably be on an Andrew album with Something Corporate being the backing band. Wonder if that’s what they do going forward to accommodate everyones schedules but still get to play together. Like a reverse Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers haha.

 

Re the discussion the last few pages, I also wasn’t able to get into Zombies or this latest release much. Loved S/T and Upside Down Flowers though
