I bought a cheap car last week and am taking in to a mechanic to get looked at tomorrow wish me luck it’s a 09 Camry with 207k miles which should be fine as long as it was taken care of correctly it has a big dent in the side and some dings here and there but so far after a week it runs fine but the brake system light is on so I’m praying I didn’t just buy a car with a catostrophic problem that will make it undrivable within a month. last time I bought a used car it needed a new transmission three weeks after I bought it

Ideally I can drive this thing to 250k maybe even 300k

 

I know I’m gonna have to put some money into at some point, my guess is it needs new brake pads and some brake fluid but as long as it’s not multiple thousands of dollars right out the gate I’ll be happy especially since I’m trying to doordash for a bit before finding a permanent job

They have paper work documenting it passed inspection about a month ago but you know how used car dealerships can be this place was your stereotypical small lot of beaters (they had some more expensive options but a whole lot under 10k) and they had two 09 Camrys and the one with the better carfacts sheet according to my dad just felt like shit to drive the steering was all wonky and the brakes were completely worn out. I went December to now with no car and would’ve accepted anything that turned on lol

 

Actually I did go look at an 04 Mitsubishi endeavor that was my cousin’s who passed away earlier this year and my cousin his sister is trying to sell it but it needed so much work done and felt like driving a bus I was like yeah absolutely not lol and we knew we would find a reasonably priced Camry around town
