While I think their more melodic material is relatively catchy and interesting, I think I find the band's heavier music more compelling. I'm much more drawn to songs like "Grooming", "A Drone", and "Theatre" than anything more melodic on here. I've still been having a difficult time getting this whole thing to gel together. I might respect the album more than I outright enjoy it. It's complicated for me, clearly.

Good playlist and I have confidently confirmed I Am King is peak Code Orange.

I loved Underneath so much that I've given this many more chances than I would've otherwise. It's a mess. Unrefined and deeply unsatisfying. Lots of good ideas and good performances, muddied and choked by a lack of finesse and cohesion in the songwriting and the sequencing.

I'm glad there are people who like it. Code Orange seem to attract markedly thoughtless criticism from their critics, criticism often coloured with a degree of relish, even though they're one of the few bands in heavy music with the ambition and ability to potentially write a modern classic. But this isn't it.

I still like this but it’s a bit dense. Would’ve cut a couple songs because this is a little bit of a chore to listen to front to back.

It’s growing on me but I agree it’s too long and I’m still not vibing with some parts. Still no bad albums

I agree this is a little long in the tooth, but it mostly works for me front to back. I like this a lot

I still think it's real good, Underneath and I Am King stand above it but I'd put it alongside Forever.

I've been thinking about this album a lot recently. It's such an oddball. Super experimental, blisteringly heavy, and clearly inspired by 90's rock/alternative. I think what gives me a little pause is the band's decision to write almost entirely anthemic, driving 90's rock instead of tapping into something a little more depressing, slow, and grungy that they barely hint at with "Mirror". A song like "Dreams of Inertia" would make so much sense on here to give the album an even darker vibe without losing the accessible/hard rock angle they were taking.

Finally revisiting this for the first time since release day. Liking it much more on a relisten but something about it is off. It's full of good tracks and moments but doesn't have that instant classic feeling of the past two (sorry I am King fans, just not quite there for me). Definitely will be bringing into rotation since the start of the year is slow and see if it keeps growing on me.

Since the dust has settled from when this released, I've been listening to it more the past few weeks. I enjoy it more and more and appreciate the slight pivot from Underneath, Forever, I am King. Underneath is still my #1 but this still goes hard, albeit in a more catchy vein.

Also, their Audiotree session is damn good too.

This is interesting but I'm left wondering - what's the point of this? Seems like the band is kinda lost right now. Hopefully I am wrong.

So looks like Reba got a new gig, and i just know it’s going to be a hit with this crowd, as the guitarist for a certain 90s shock rocker who is trying to bring his career back…………

    she’s Marilyn Manson’s new guitarist.

Agreed, she is easily the most talented member of CO and has the potential to be an absolute star as a solo artist but being a member of Manson's band?! I get it a paycheck is a paycheck and musicans need side jobs to make a living but there's another known bands or artists out there she could easily play guitar for a get a paycheck without losing your core values though.

  22. Considering Brian's history of abuse of and violence against women, it's baffling that she would want to work with him. Money talks tho.
