Can somebody explain this to me like I'm five?

 

I second this request, please

 

Keeping in mind I know very little about European politics and I'm just basing this off of what I'm reading there:

Macron's party is getting beat bad in polling, with far right leader Le Pen in the lead
Macron called snap elections, aka dissolving the govt and holding new elections
No one seems to know why he would do this now other than the theory being Le Pen wins, far right governs and becomes unpopular because they fail, Macron's sucessor can sweep in in 2027 or whenver the next election would be and win....if that's the case, needless to say it's a huge gamble
Macron hates the far lefties too
Once he did this, it appears the far left and center left parties have all basically put their differences aside and banded together for this election...that's the whole "Macron is raging" part I think
Meanwhile, the conservative party with its Charles De Gaulle roots, does not overall like Le Pen's far right party because, you know, fascism, but the leader of that conservative party announced that they had come to an agreement with Le Pen's party. Apparnetly, a lot of people in that Conservative party are PISSED about that and some are leaving the party over it

Would really like @Wharf Rat or someone else more versed in this stuff to chime in though lol

I was thinking that Macron somehow thought he had a chance at winning these upcoming snap elections, even if it was a long shot and losing them kicks him out, kinda like he was betting the farm on it

 

The cleaning period is 100% needed. Of course. But that being said I get the sentiment about it being annoying that you can't check in to the room until 3-4 pm but you arrive to your destination way early in the AM.

 

Hotel check in times can be wild sometimes. Ours for Colorado was 5 pm and we got to Denver at 9 am and had a rehearsal dinner at 6 pm. We just called around 10:30 and they said they had a room ready for us.

 

Seems like a skill issue if you choose to be an early person

 

A lot of times at least a good hotel will hold your luggage (either pre-check in or post check out), so you can always drop your stuff and then go grab some food or do something.

 

i guess the solution should be that the day you arrive should be a lot more cheaper than the other days. cause i undestand cause i want a clean room, but at like 12pm.

 

So this is sort of like if Biden decided to dissolve the Democrat-led Senate before the election so that Republicans would take over and look bad because they do a shitty job?

Seems kind of stupid.

Wacky stuff happening in Europe it seems between this and the thing in the UK, pushing up their election to July

 

I am not a morning person but if I’m flying I’d rather go as early as possible. I don’t want to be at an airport at like 4 pm.

 

it seems like he made the move prematurely and the shellacking he had received wasn't quite as bad as he originally thought, or looked different than he originally thought

for a while I was able to get Rite Aid generics on Amazon dirt cheap, but the supply dried up

You do have the option of asking for an early check in. The time could vary, but if you give them enough of a heads up, you’ll likely get at least a time that works for early arrivals.
