I'd say this year was much better than last year actually.

My list so far.

1. DOOM
2. Uncharted 4
3. Firewatch
4. Inside
5. Stardew Valley
6. The Witness
7. Overwatch
8. Forza Horizon 3
9. Hitman
10. Enter The Gungeon

A bunch of stuff that looks really good that I haven't got either due to having not much money to spare.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Stellaris, Darkest Dungeon, XCOM2, Mafia III, Gears of War 4, Dragon Quest Builders, Battlefield 1, Civ VI and Titanfall 2.

Certainly has been more personally enjoyable for me than most recent years. DOOM and Uncharted 4 just blew me away in a way few games manage to do anymore.

 

I just feel like there was more to love from last year, not that there haven't been games I have enjoyed but I have hardly been blown away. Deus Ex was a complete flop for me and Quantum Break (even though I liked the time I had with it) was a massive drop off from Alan Wake which disappointed me massively because I was really looking forward to both of them.

 

The year was okay, it's just that the current generation is a little creatively bankrupt

 

Watch dogs 2, ff xv and Pokémon sun/moon this month. Hope they're all great and do well. I don't enjoy negativity and disappointment. Got enough of that in my life

 

playing skyrim yesterday i was on my way to a quest and came across a camp where the people were slaughtered, i went to inspect and then a sabre cat came out of nowhere and killed my horse, i was right next to a river and my horse's corpse floated down the stream. fucking morbid

i love this game

 

I still can't believe I'm going to be playing FFXV this month

 

Also since I never played the dlc originally can I do the dragonborn dlc at a low level or should I wait a bit til I'm stronger?

 

Lots of buzz for Pokémon in my household haha, me and my two brothers are all gonna get it

 

really liking The Division. not gonna lie, the whole intro mission took me way longer than it should - The Ripper kept destroying me

 

As someone who has never had interest in the franchise, I'm very much looking forward to FFXV.

 

Tentatively excited for FFXV

 

Dragon Quest VIII is out on January 20th, right before KH2.8, and I'm still going through DQ7, fucking around in free build in Dragon Quest Builders and World of Final Fantasy. Plus, of course, Final Fantasy XV in a few weeks. Stop it Square, I need to play games other than your RPGs.

 

now that the world series is over i can't wait to sink a shit ton of time into skyrim. specifically this weekend my wife will be gone from tomorrow afternoon until sunday afternoon and i've intentionally made zero plans so i can sit at home alone and play it. i'm so social.

 

As for rest of the year stuff for me, Final Fantasy XV, probably Dishonored 2, maybe Watch Dogs, maybe Pokemon (I get temped every time one comes out but World of Final Fantasy is scratching that itch for now). I'll probably grab Battlefield 1 and Tokyo Mirage Sessions at some point too.

 

Glad to hear Mafia III is doing extremely well in terms of sales and despite some things about it not working for me I am enjoying it overall.

 

Pokemon, Dishonored 2 and Gears is what I'll still pick up (excluding possible sales) this year

watch dogs 2 has me intrigued simply because i love san francisco. i know the first one had a ton of issues, does it look like the second one will be better? i don't know much about the game.

 

Honestly thought the issues with the first one were completely overblown. Very excited for the second.

And yes, there are plenty of videos on the official Watch Dogs 2 channel showing gameplay and Ubi explicitly addressing the problems with the first game that they've addressed with the second, as well as improvements (more specifically the gameplay - driving and hacking are the main ones).

 

If those "issues" are improved upon then Watchdogs 2 should be fantastic. I liked the driving mechanics a lot in the first game too for what it's worth.

 

If Watch dogs 2 don't got San Jose, I'm rioting.

Yeah I'd say WD2 is looking much better than the first one, at least it won't be entirely self serious and the gameplay looks real solid.

 

IMO, you should wait. There's some really hard enemies in Solstheim.
