I slacked this weekend, but I did manage to try Anderson Valley's Boont Amber Ale. Typically not my thing, but it was good. Finished clean, which I prefer.

Was in Tampa yesterday with a buddy. Grabbed a case of Cigar City's White Oak Jai Alai. Even was canned on my birthday. They were doing pours of Hunahpu's, too. 2014 & 2016. Followed it up with trips to Six Ten, Angry Chair (holy hell, that Double Stuff Oreo Fudge Bucket was intense), Cigar City Cider & Mead, and Coppertail. Pretty good beer day.

love that I can get Sue and a couple others whenever I make the drive to my family's place down here in Florida. I pass right by the Brew Hub every time.

  4. How was Coppertail? A friend of mine from HS works for them now, but I've yet to try any of their beer. Do you know if they can/bottle any?

It's definitely a good thing they distribute in Lakeland. FL. There is no possible way TG could distribute that far without. The actual brewery in northeast Iowa is so small.

Their Free Dive IPA & Unholy trippel are both really good. Those, their porter, and a wheat are all bottled in six packs and are in regular distro. My favorite beers from them are Whoops and Purple Drank (both are berliners, Whoops being treated with cranberry & hibiscus, and Purple Drank w/ boysenberry). A lot of people think their Brews Banner IIPA is one of the best double IPAs in the Tampa area that's accessible semi-regularly.

Their brewery is also one of the most beautiful breweries i've ever been to.

for sure. the brew hub model is really fascinating. i'm excited to see how they expand as they start building out the other locations around the country.

  8. I've seen him post several pictures of the brewery and it looks absolutely amazing. I'm going to have to reach out to him and see if he'll send me some of the bottles. I'd be really interested in trying both of those Berliners, but no bottling or distro of those?

their berliners are not packaged at this time outside of kegs. i wish.

  11. Dang. Well, I love berliners enough that I'll probably just pay him to overnight a few growlers to me.

All the Tampa beer talk got me thirty. I'm on the St. Pete side and have an hour or so to kill, so I deeded to stop by Rapp in Seminole. Been drinking a lot of IPAs lately which I love, but felt like mixing it up. Always good, always a great selection. Got a flight of 6:

    Double IPA (it's too good)
    Gose
    Caribbean Ginger Beer
    Kentucky Common
    Broyhan
    Lichtenheiner

Theyre distributing all over the area now (not sure how far across the state, but it's in stores in St. Pete now). It's so good too. PsuedoSue is quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

I got 3 bottles of KBS today. My dad did the leg work on it since he's retired and can go out for it during the day, but we got 6 bottles total and we're splitting them. Excellent.

We don't get enough Cigar City up in PA... Never seen the white oak Jai Alai, but that sound great!

White Oak is very, very good, but I honestly don't like it that much better than the regular (because it is fantastic as well). It's good though, and always nice to have to mix things up. What I really miss is Humidor, which was Jai Alai aged on cedar. That's probably my favorite beer ever. They couldn't find a reliable source of cedar so they discontinued with regularity, although they have brewed it in small batches recently, and I heard they had it St Hunahpu's Day.

This was the taplist for yesterday's fest, we were there for like... 5 and a half hours haha. I had at least 12 from this list, plus two off-menu, and some doubled up... it was fun...

I figure now that Oskar Blues bought them it won't be long til they get distribution in all states Oskar Blues has distribution. I live in Pittsburgh and I've never seen Cigar City here. Only when I was in Florida.
