Nice! I knew it was something from the 2006-2008 era.

Does anyone own the Underoath Observatory set? Is it a piece of shit, or is there a chance the records sound good?

i know others had issues with skipping on a couple records, something i didn't encounter. my biggest complaint was that the outer box was slightly bent and that some songs had noticeable gaps between them where there shouldn't have been (can't remember which ones, but i first heard this on LITS). other than that, it sounded fine to me (although i haven't spun it in a bit, so i could be wrong).

I have it and my TOCS skips a lot, as do a large number of people's. I don't know how widespread the issue was, but they completely refused to acknowledge there might've been an issue with the pressing and just blamed it on people's players. People took it to the band's manager and I remember him and the plant being downright rude about it. Whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth.

DTGL and LITSOS sound fine, though. I don't recall hearing many complaints about those.

Thanks. It sounds like the odds are stacked against me that all three records will sound okay. So messed up that they did not even take ownership of the problem at the time, but it seems like that's par for the course when things go wrong with a pressing. I'm still waiting for some type of acknowledgement of the FTSTYS2 missing track debacle.

Assuming everyone got the official notice on FYSTYS2 below?

    Hello,

Stefanie, co-owner of Drive-Thru here, writing to you regarding the New Found Glory "From The Screen To Your Stereo Part 2" vinyl mishap.

By now, I'm sure you're aware that "The Promise" (Feat. Chris Carrabba) is missing from the vinyl pressing. First of all, let me apologize...when we found out about this, we were horrified and immediately contacted Take This To Heart Records, who we have been working with on the vinyl repressing / re-releases of our catalog.

We want to assure you that this was NOT an oversight by Drive-Thru or NFG, we do not get the test pressings, nor do we have anything to do with sending files to the plant.

Take This To Heart has agreed to repress the vinyl in its entirety, and mail out the new record to anyone who purchased it. They will be in contact with you directly with a target ship date. For the record, they have been great to work with throughout our re-releases, they're big fans of the label so they know the catalog well, and this was just one mistake - everyone is human!

To compensate additionally for this error, we are offering the opportunity to buy an exclusive color / limited edition pressing of FTSTYS Part 1. Before we put the vinyl online (date TBD), we will send an email out to everyone who purchased Part 2, and give you first dibs on ordering Part 1.

Take This To Heart has tightened up their approval and communication process to ensure this never happens again.

Our sincerest apologies, and thank you for your continued support of our bands and label! It means more than you know.

    xo,

    Stefanie

P.S. Just wondering, do you miss me in The Black Dog when someone plays The Starting Line?

  9. Damn, I liked that Morning Of record a lot way back when. Fairly certain Smooth Sailing was the song on my Myspace at a certain point haha. Doubt I’d spin it much if I owned it now but very cool to see it get some love

Thanks for sharing. I ordered it from Urban Outfitters, and they didn't send anything out.

Side note: Even with this eff up, I'm excited about FTSTYS Part 1. I was hoping for a NGCS repress though.

Need to make sure Hannah got that message since she ordered it for me for a birthday gift (in March lol).

If you're looking to buy I'd give you a good deal. I only opened TOCS and it skips a bit on "It's Dangerous Business" but I had no other issues. The other two are still sealed.

Ah I'm definitely jumping on FTSTYS when it comes.

Also as someone who didn't grabbed FTSTYS2 originally, I'm selfishly excited to grab this original pressing for cheap in the UO clearance section in a few months

If it helps, the "skipping part" on that track seems to blend in pretty well in the mix during the lyrics/breakdown of "I'm drowning in my sleep..." It's still a fairly strong pressing, IMO

That the only people who got test presses for FTSTYS 2 were Joe at Take This To Heart & Richard/Stephanie. They were selling test presses for this EP and they were quickly taken down for sale once people noticed it was missing a song.

yeah this was a fucking nightmare imo, according to them 'you'll need a good record player not a cheap one' --they only play correctly on certain tables (i didnt have a cheap one and it stilll skipped like crazy). still fucking pissed about that pressing, will never buy another underoath record after they didn't make it right.

That's wild. Kinda wish I didn't cancel my order now haha. Also kinda wish I didn't grab the og 10" of FTSTYS1 in the winter! Oh well! Glad they're making it right!
