this tweet in particular just made me burst into tears out of nowhere it’s so fucking hard do you have any idea how many nights I fall asleep in tears thinking about the wreckage I’ve caused throughout the years and how much id give to forget every single second of it

 

I met cole when we were both extremely deep in our addictions and he was the sweetest person I’ve ever met and made feel less alone in what I was going through at the time and all I’ve wished for since that day is for both of us to find peace and I’m so glad he has

It’s even more depressing being an addict when you see how people talk about and look at addicts. If you haven’t lived or been around that shit, you have zero fucking clue .. not even the faintest of ideas.

 

yep. I’ve got a very specific example of a time somebody did something to make me feel less than human and I’ll never forget it. There are others but one in particular really really sticks out to me and I can’t shake it. Fucking sucks. And everyday I go online and see discourse around homelessness and substance abuse and otherwise well meaning people can’t help but let the mask slip when it comes to addicts

 

you know this poverty porn videos in kenginston you see of people video taping and taking pictures of the homeless addicts down there in a super gross and voyeuristic way? yeah I was a victim of that of some kids who literally posed next to me while I was trying to do my thing laughing and shit man people don’t fucking know what we go through

This and the latest Cloud Nothings have been perfect to drive around to this weekend with the great weather

You could delete the first paragraph and a bit from that Pitchfork review and lose nothing, kinda feels like an editorial decision to ‘make sure you use Cole’s former addiction as a hook’ and they just slapped it in there. It’s a bummer.

 

Feel so lucky to be alive at the same time as this band

 

This album is so hypnotic, I keep losing myself in it, awesome stuff. Been on repeat all weekend.

cloud nothings took a few listens, but really enjoying it. This album I couldnt get through, but need to try again.

 

"Reflected" has those Alex G synths going on at one point and I love it

 

At this point, I really feel like "Everyone Out" and "Fender on the Freeway" are two of their absolute best songs

The little stretch from Frog in Boiling Water to Reflected is perfection to me, and the closer is just so fucking beautiful. Easily my AOTY so far and probably my favorite DIIV album. i know the latter may be crazy to say so soon but it's been such an immediate hit for me
