okay, all kidding aside, this is serious, people's lives could depend on this. what you should do if ever bitten by a snake:
- climb a tree
- swim horizontal to the beach and not back towards shore
- keep walking in the same direction and don't keep changing course, preferably following a waterway
- stop, drop, & roll

I lived in AZ and came in contact with plenty of snakes and never got bit. so clearly my advice is better

 

my daughter was playing at our neighbors' house last week, and the dad came walking up to our yard and was like "Willa is okay, but..." and then proceeded to tell us that she got bit by a garter snake. he said he cleaned the bite real good and that it wasn't swollen or anything and she said it didn't really hurt. she stayed over there for a few more hours, and then later that night she told me that same dude had told them that garter snakes don't have teeth and can't bite and that's why they were just grabbing it with their hands and that's how they ended up getting bit and I was like fucking Brad man anything with a mouth will bite you wtf

 

If you’re bitten by a snake you suck the venom out and immediately spit it back at the snake.
