Written and recorded in Nashville, Sloan’s third album, Me Again, is a portrait of an artist in a state of unrest. "With this album, I wanted to be more honest, because I was fucking sad.” The title track illustrates that bottomless depression: “I can’t wait to want to brush my hair/ I can’t wait to want to go somewhere.” The highly anticipated 2024 album includes singles like "Me Again" and "Highlights", as well as a variety of genre bending tunes that encompass the existential feeling of being in your 20s.

I really need a sad girl singer-songwriter record right now, I hope this one fills that void.

 

I'll check this out. I will say I find this descriptor of "sad girl" to be.....a bit troubling. That's not to say the feelings and/or emotions are to be dismissed but singers describing themselves as "sad (x)" makes me think kids are now going to ASPIRE to be sad.

 

This has been a trend for years at this point, both in music and comedy.

I know. I saw Sasha Alex Sloan in 2021 at Gov Ball and she introduced the set with "Ok, are you ready to be sad?"

 

i saw her twice in 2019 and haven't seen her since but that's great! she is a sweetheart and i wish all the best for! all her full lengths have been fantastic
