84% of 2024 festival attendees plan to take drugs

I refuse to believe this is remotely accurate.. especially the cocaine use percentage

 

this is garbage. What festival is called “Rock Fest” or is that just a generic placeholder for a Danny Wimmer fest?

Also, if you’ve ever been to Bonnaroo, Summer Camp, Camp Bisco, Peach Fest, or any other wook fest that 80% would be accurate. At Coachella I found most people to be relatively well behaved and not just tripping balls everywhere.

 

Yea, almost 50% is crazy high. Also crazy that so many people in the day and age of fentanyl are like 'I'll buy my drugs from a stranger there'.

 

The 46.5% of cocaine is the main bullshit culprit

Maybe someone just copied a chart from 1986 - then it'd make sense

Also, what the fuck is the 0.1% Other (maybe frogs? - or does that count as a Psychedlic)

 

I also refuse to believe that Bonnaroo is that low on the list.
But yeah the cocaine....not a chance in hell that's accurate. I also don't really believe 65% of people are smoking pot either. Sure plenty do but I'd guess maybe it's like a third of the crowd.

 

I tried smoking weed at a festival (it was free), but I have ocd and god knows what else undiagnosed and ended up so paranoid I left after 15 minutes

 

Were you guys on that show with When We Was Kids and In Angles in that weird ass basement in Chicago?

 

This reminds me of when my wife took a 5mg gummy at Riot Fest last year, and we had to leave an hour into the festival because she got so paranoid haha. (Still sad we missed Turnstile and Foo Fighters)

Edit: neither of us regularly do edibles or smoke weed in general. Thought it'd be fun at the fest. Nope!

 

Takes place in Cadott, Wisconsin. (2 hours from Minneapolis, 3 hours from Madison) Jelly Roll, Thirty Seconds To Mars, & Shinedown are headlining this year. It's generally not super well liked on account of the main ampitheater stage requiring separate pit passes for each artist.

Yes!! Not one of my fav shows we’ve ever played haha

 

That place was so bad, I cam mainly to see In Angles and I stood up front and I could feel my ear drums about to explode so I went a few rows back and couldn't see anything. Sound was distorted as hell, too.

 

This sounds like more than half of the basement shows I've played.

That’s not a fun experience at all! At Bonnaroo 2015, my partner and I were in the pit area of the main stage after watching Kendrick and waiting for Deadmau5 to start. We both decided to take some mdma before Deadmau5 and we were having such an incredible time…until, about halfway through the set my partner turned to me and went in for a kiss and I noticed blood all over his chin/teeth. He didn’t realize the mdma would make him grind his teeth and he accidentally bit his tongue and was bleeding everywhere.

We laugh about it now but in the moment I sobered up immediately and was like ummm we might have a problem. Luckily your tongue heals pretty quickly and he was fine the rest of the weekend.

 

Definitely not fun! She was so paranoid thinking it wasn't going to end. We got an Uber back to the hotel and I realized I only brought my prescription sunglasses but not my regular glasses so I wore those until we got back to our locker at the fest the next day, lol.

That sounds like no fun, my goodness! Glad you're able to laugh about it though. I'm sure that was so scary in the moment. Thankfully we laugh about it too and Foo Fighters are playing like 20 minutes away from us rather than halfway across the country this summer so we're headed to that :)

As someone who's smoked weed heavily for over 20 years, I wouldn't suggest experimenting with edibles out in public.

 

I had a friend that used to bake stuff for me and my wife. Rookie mistake I saw him at a wrestling show once and he gave me two chocolate chip cookies. I eat one….by intermission I wasn’t feeling anything, so I ate the second one thinking that I was supposed to because he gave me two. By the second match after intermission the walls were melting.

He also gave us a giant cookie once for us to split….so we split it in half. I needed to go to bed after like a half hour. I couldn’t function anymore.

 

This reminds me of the epic story from that guy who took edibles at a WWE show and lost his shit... I'll try to find it.

I don’t normally enjoy being high in public but I ate an edible and saw the 1975 in 2018 and it was THE BEST

 

Fave high concert experience is Tame Impala at Coachella 2013 with the sunset slot. Just epic.

Also Thunder Mountain Railroad At Disneyland while on edibles is an all time stoned highlight for me

 

Edibles can be awesome. They're just so unpredictable even for experienced smokers. Especially if you don't have an accurate representation of the dosage/they were homemade.

 

I used to do the weed at festivals all the time, and then one day I was like oh I can never do this in a crowded public place again

 

Worst experience was when my friend told me to take a big bite of a weed brownie at 9am before FYF fest in 2011. Got so damn high it took all day for it to wear off. Didn't get to the festival until 7pm. Everyone had to wait for me to sleep it off :/
