You ever watch the Numeral Joker cuts? He's got an extensive list of edits combining different CW story lines into cohesive films.

Rogue One is top tier Star Wars, so he’d be right on that one.

As a huge Trek fan I have heard people in this forum say they feel like Star Trek lore is too complicated, and they feel like the franchise Is intimidating and would take too much effort to get into.

After diving deep into Star Wars this past week I think I can say definitively: Star Wars lore is way more extensive, complicated, and necessary understand for the wider plot than Star Trek's .

As a fan of both franchises, I disagree with this. Star Wars lore may be extensive, but most of it is peripheral and you don't need to know it to enjoy the films. Maybe that's changed lately with the new TV shows, I haven't followed those nearly as well, but the films at least I don't think rely on anything more than each other.

Star Trek though, between all the shows and films that follow up on each other and continue unresolved plotlines from show to show, has the greater connective tissue among all of the entries.

The connective tissue between the Star Wars animated series and the live action series is incredibly close. Live action series devoting huge parts of the plot to playing off 6 year old cliffhanger storyarcs from the cartoons, recent cartoons building up characters that are likely to play huge roles in future series, ect.

Remember large part of Star Trek canon is standalone episodes. Most of the connective tissue from series to series is concepts (usually not very complicated ones), but not typically specific individual characters with overarching story arcs. Like sure Q will pop up in Voyager sometimes for a one off adventure, but you don't have to go back and watch all the TNG Q episodes to understand he's just an omnipotent alien trickster god that likes to fuck with Federation crews. When Star Trek does do lore heavy stuff ( Picard season 3, Lower Decks) it's usually for projects specifically geared towards the die hard that get all the references

I will say the live action Star Wars shows have done a decent job of making it so you don't have to watch the animated shows to know what's going on, it just adds to them and sometimes is nothing more than a fun moment for the fans of the cartoons

Clone Wars is sick. One episode that is basically Seven Samurai followed by one where Jedi fight a giant Kaiju .
