Relic was a fantastic movie, absolutely heartbreaking

Finished Scream 4. I actually liked that one quite a bit, definitely more modern and shows what the future could be. Excited to check out 5 and hopefully try to get 6 streaming somehow

  4. 4 has one of my fav ghostface tbh

4 has arguably the best twist in Scream, it's such a great reveal. as much as I like 5 and 6 the reveals in both are a little lacking

I think it was ok. Been a while since I watched and it didn’t make like a huge impression

  12. I do love the reveal in 4 but feel like it might be the most mean-spirited Scream film. Not as fun to watch as the others at times, at least for me

  13. Not explicitly horror, but Jesse Plemons' scene in Civil War is one of the most tense and frightening performances of the year. The sound design of that film alone makes it qualify as some kind of non-traditional horror.

(Also my prediction about the film was wrong. It was very good.)

  14. Dammit Aaron, now I'm reconsidering whether to go see it

  15. I was hugely skeptical and found it extremely affecting, but that may also be because of the way it made me feel about my own apathy towards current events and social media over the past four-five months. It's definitely not the movie they're advertising, or the one a lot of people are expecting. (I'd recommend it, but take that as you will)

Love that JBB is doing The Autopsy of Jane Doe tonight. This movie goes hard

  17. Have not seen that one but it's been on my list for a while. I always get it mixed up with The Taking of Deborah Logan for some reason, which I have also never seen. Probably about time I fix both of those things

we don't talk much about TV shows in here, what are some of y'alls favourites? I reckon some of the more horror episodes of X-Files and Doctor Who had a lot to do with my taste in horror developing as a kid

  20. Still love The Twilight Zone and Tales From the Crypt

  22. Alright, hear me out. I had a lot of fun with Abigail. Super goopy and mostly charming, even if not all of the jokes landed for me. Really loved most of the cast, too. But I was just not super hot on the "reveal" about an hour in, or a lot of the stuff that came after in the final half-hour. Pretty on par with Scream 6 for me in terms of putting a hat on a hat on a hat, or having unpredictable things happen even when they go against character motivation. None of the heartfelt stuff really landed for me, and Abigail's character arc really didn't make a lot of sense to me. And that sounds like a lot of complaints, but I really did like the film more than I didn't lol. I just had some problems with it. I don't think every new horror-comedy needs to try to emulate Scream in its structure.

I've only seen bits of the original Twilight Zone but it's aged really surprisingly well. some phenomenal concepts in that, I need to sit down and watch it all one day
