For ppl who went to/know of the NYC show, is there an opener?

 

The Johnny Carson impersonator from the Stable of Stars. He hits a bunch of people in the audience (he can do that) but they were probably plants who knew they were gonna get hit.

 

Chicago show review! I’ll spoiler it if anyone wants to go in blind.

Phenomenal time! The basic format of the show was Tim and Zach on a couch with Brooks Wheelan moderating (he also did a 10 min opening set) and Whitmer Thomas on a drum pad to cue up sound drops. They invited guests out one at a time to watch a cut sketch and discussed/reviewed it live.

The guests were: Sam Richardson, Patti Harrison, Gary Richardson (actor who played the producer for Karl Havoc), a guy named Bruce Buckles that apparently Tim and Sam saw at Second City last night and invited him to join, Ayo Edibiri, Lionel Boyce (Marcus on The Bear).

Sketches were way more hit than miss and we got director’s cut versions of “has this ever happened to you?” and “new Joe”.

At the end Whitmer played guitar and they sang a medley of Baby of the Year, Moon River Rock, Palm Tree Guys, and Friday Night.
Oh - and we saw Matty Matheson in the audience 6 rows ahead of us!

 

I’m jealous as hell.

 

It was a great show. Format was a little weird but all the cut sketches were great.

speaking of Whit, if you havent seen The Golden One you need to watch it immediately

 

Show tonight was incredible and then went to the bar next door….

 

Amazing!

Overall great show, but Tim, please, next time vet the improv beginner better

We legit couldn't tell in Chicago. Was that a Chicago only thing or is Bruce Buckles at every show?

 

I fell for it too lol I thought he looked familiar the whole time but it was so cringey that I really thought it was real
