This is just circling the drain with someone who is either trolling or willfully ignorant and I’m not sure which is worse. Nothing anyone says is going to result in anything other than “you’re an antisemitic racist” and you can’t have an honest discussion with someone who brings nothing of value to the table.

Not to backtrack way too much but it really is ridiculous that people who work public facing in the entertainment industry potentially not working in that industry anymore is treated as people "ruining a life". He could've said nothing and been fine, but regardless it's not a "ruined life" to have to take a different opportunity. MANY people have had to adjust their life paths and it hasn't been the sole thing that's ruined us, and we're not people who have the kind of money to invest in putting on a festival either. He would be FINE not working in entertainment if this backlash "ruined him".

 

He has be putting on countless shows and helped countless bands from all over the world to come on tour over here. From my knowledge he hasn't made a buck from the festival personally (barely breaking even) and reinvested everything into making it a great weekend for everyone each and every year. He just went from the go to guy for basically every band in the genre that wants to play germany to an outcast for a bunch of folks. Keeping in mind everything he did for a long long time, I think a lot of reactions online are really cold on an interpersonal level and I hope none of you will ever have the same thing happening to them. "Life ruined" may not have been the best description of what I feel is happening to him, gotta give you that.

 

i mean the dude aggressively told anyone who disagrees with him (which appears to include a lot of the bands he books!) not to have anything to do with him and they’re complying. he literally asked for that

I appreciate you acknowledging that, I was speaking generally as a whole and not singling you out on that either because so many people have that kind of reaction to figureheads in music facing consequences for actions or statements

What @Wharf Rat posted below you is 100% true though, he did ask for people to speak with their dollars and they are, and are making rightful statements on how they feel about his statement. Not encouraging people to be in his DMs with death threats or anything like that but yeah

I do wanna say for the record that I'm pretty privileged to be able to be calm about it, there are lots of people impacted by statements like that who completely have the right to be upset and react strongly and I stand by them 100%
