Wtf lol it’s like, not even just our most hyped prospects, it’s also the ones everybody thought wasn’t gonna be as good last year

I was told (by someone who knows a lot about baseball) that Kimbrel was an awesome pitcher for us to acquire

Fuckin bases loaded bottom of the ninth with only one out and up by 2 runs… game comes down to him striking out Mike Trout… and he does it with two pitches in a row that just clipped the top of the strike zone

that was a BIG turnaround

 

He's been good aside from 1 game (his first save attempt for the O's too) this season so far

Kimbrel was incredible a decade or so ago. He's likely washed now but it's only a one-year deal for $13M (that's not a lot, really) so if he has anything left in the tank at all it'll be worth it. But until then everytime he comes in from the pen this is the proper attitude:

Without looking at his stats I feel like Kimbrel’s last good season was in 2018 until October. Shocked he’s still in the big leagues and is a closer. Good for him though.

 

I already have tickets to see the Rangers play the A's at their last home game, but I'm trying to convince my gf to go to Anaheim for the series after that lol

And she's gonna say no but I'm also wanting to go to Oracle Park and make it a double header after the Oakland game

 

I’m curious what you would think his last good season was if you did look

 

Literally didn’t expect to see his numbers in 2022 and 2023. I just remember how bad he was in Oct 2018 and was awful with the Cubs the next 2 years and the White Sox when he got traded there in 2021.

 

He was mostly good for the Phillies with a few huge choke jobs

 

While Kimbrel has had some massive blowups. The guy is a HOFer if he retired today. If he continues to pitch 2-3 more seasons, he could get to 500 saves and might be a 1st ballot guy.
