Continental Belt was a mistake, they should have just made it a true G1 (guaranteed title match, etc) rather than for a belt. And dropped the Owen Hart entirely in the process.

The structure of Main Champ Belt + TV Workhorse Belt + Traveling Title that occasionally ends up on people from other promotions is the right mix of mens titles...and I honestly think they could match it on the womens side.

I hate that its in a Battle Royale...but I can see that as a way to put the belt on someone transitional for Becky to go over at Clash.

Like put the belt on a Nia-type, give her a defense at Backlash, Becky beats her at Clash.

Every battle royale/royal rumble should be a shoot. Whoever can actually survive and win gets the belt or whatever.

 

Randomly watching Raw and the next match is a battle Royal to decide the new women’s champion (or whatever they call the title Rhea had)?

That feels very… Diva’s era-ish of just throwing a bunch of women in a random match to win something without much thought or planning, surprised to see this is the route they’re going. Isn’t the Queen of the Ring tournament soon? Surprised they’re not building the title into that, like maybe whoever wins QotR also wins the title or literally anything other than a random battle Royal. Hmm.

 

Agreed on the Battle Royal being very silly, but I suspect QOTR is gonna feature a LOT fewer women wrestlers overall and they may not be able to get their winner over there. They traveled with like 15-20 people for the last show; and I think they only did the finals of KOTR/QOTR there last time.

Probably also not ideal to have your champion crowned not in their normal ring gear

I feel like there's been rumblings for a while now of Max being the home for AEW stuff. But regardless of platform it needs to happen yesterday.

 

I just want to watch the epic year long Steen/Generico angle in it's entirety

I’m loving the wrestlers walking through the parking lot arriving at the arena footage.

Is it just me or is Priest just better as a face? Maybe I just want to like the dude but him talking about he and Jey having next came off so damn likable then came the boring generic heel stuff.

how the hell can Miz be so off on the “what’s up?” It’s been like 20 years dude

 

I was enjoying Priest as a face before the heel turn because it seemed like he was gaining momentum. The guy is naturally cool and seems better when his real personality comes through.

 

One of those rarer instances where it’s easier to be the face than the heel

 

I think the problem with anything like a Max/Peacock/etc is they just dont have the structure for something like the WWE Network. The match tagging, the episode->episode play where you dont have to switch to other shows...it worked so much better as a purpose built thing.

Wish there was money on AEW just doing its own thing and it being like $20/mth for all the TV, PPVs, back archives, etc
