Jameson does this thing where he drinks whatever but then immediately inhales, which makes him have a coughing fit 50% of the time. Uses the straws fine other than that though!

My oldest had strep this week. Was rough esp for my wife whom teaches him in her tk class. I could tell she was stressed coming home and having to set up doctors appt for him and getting our 2yo tested too. They’re both on her very good health insurance though where’s I’m on my very shady one through work so I couldn’t help her in that department. Though I made sure to help them take baths/showers and prepared all their meals etc

Just got back home after taking Milo to Florida. Survived two flights, his first beach trip and a bunch of other firsts. I’m sleepy.

Bought one of those lifevac things. Had too many close calls and maybe this thing will help me relax a little during dinner time. Learning CPR and heimlich maneuver is on my to-do list.

“We used to come here all the time to…think!”

Also the mound of stuffed animals in Bingo’s bed was relatable

Yeah my nephew is into this show and while we try to keep our daughter from screens for now, it's not always possible and I can safely assume she'll be a Bluey fan after catching a little bit today

There’s actually going to be one more episode (imdb currently says it’s set to air next Sunday) and it’s aptly titled “Surprise”. It aired/leaked months ago in India apparently and the whole episode is out there if you’re wanting to look for it. The surprise it’s referring to (other than being a surprise bonus episode after being told The Sign was it for the season) comes at the end of the episode. We get another flash forward to the future when Bluey is an adult. She visits her parents (still in the same house and they even crack a joke about not being able to believe Bandit ever thought about selling it) and then there’s another ring at the door. Bandit answers it and we get to see that Bluey has a little boy who’s hiding and waiting to play with Bandit. Lots of fan speculation because the kid looks an awful lot like Mackenzie.

Yeah, and they first laid the seeds for that in the episode “TV Shop” earlier in season 3 when Bluey is at the store with her dad and she and Bingo are looking for their friend Coco. They’re using the TV security camera monitors to navigate the store and on one of the screens you see Winton’s dad (the pug) spot the Terriers’ mom coming toward him so he freshens his breath with a spray and then later you see them talking on the screen. I’ve been pretty fascinated by this “The Sign” special because this is the first season where it really feels like, looking back, they’ve been building to it all season long in subtle ways. Almost every episode ties into it in one way or another and the way it all thematically paid off was incredibly emotional.

For anyone interested in the song at the end of the episode, it’s by Meg Washington (who actually also voices the teacher, Calypso) and the title is Lazarus Drug:

I have the exact same worries. My son is eight and will be turning nine in October. My daughter turns six in July. I have this fear in the back of my mind that they wait so long it eventually slips not only out of the zeitgeist, but out of their age range of interest and I just love the show so much. It feels like, more than an enjoyable, cleverly written cartoon, it’s culturally significant and leaving a positive impact on our generation and our children’s generation that we’re all going to remember many years from now. I think it’s really important and I’m nervous about it going away for too long and, yeah, potentially aging it up upon return in the hopes of maintaining and reconnecting with that old following. Who knows, maybe they’d find a way to make it work and if so, great, but…you know. Lightning in a bottle and all that.

Another Easter egg my son picked up on and mentioned was the Green Balloon seen floating as they moved between scenes was the same balloon they lost in a previous episode

    Greeny!

Yeah they referenced a few things from the show’s run. Chattermax could be seen in the trunk of the car, the wedding DJ was the street musician from Dance Mode, at the wedding grandma and Bob did the floss dance that the girls had taught them in Grannies back in season one, in the end credits you could see fruit bats flying through the sky nodding to the episode Fruitbat, Bingo’s butterfly friend in the car is a reference to the episode Slide, the real estate agent, Bucky, was the same Bucky who once told Bandit when he was a little kid that he didn’t know how to draw cars properly as seen in the season three episode Dragon, etc. and I’m sure there’s more.

My oldest is 10 and though he doesn’t sit in front of the tv to watch Bluey anymore he got excited for the new episodes and wanted to watch them with us. I got a 2 year old also so definitely need Bluey to be around a little longer. Funny how invested we are in this lol

Yeah my 9-year-old son used to love watching Bluey, but probably hasn't watched it in years. My 6-year-old daughter was into it for a while, but now they're both kind of into other things. We did buy my daughter the Bluey video game on Switch last year and she loves it (even though I have no idea what the point of it is) but I cannot remember the last time they watched it.

I do recall thinking it was pretty rad.

Oh man not a fan of the end of that long Bluey. When we have to move I don’t need any notions of that possibility lol

I think about that a lot. It’s harder with iPhones that can record everything and give you infinite playback. Sometimes I wonder if that’s ultimately good or not.
