I really don’t like this rollout. The poet schtick just doesn’t work for me. “Sincerely the Chairman of the Tortured Poets Department” is some real YA nonsense. Smells a little too much like Lemony Snicket for me.

 

waiting for the inevitable surprise deluxe release with some post that says something like "you know the best poets can never stop pouring their heart out. The Tortured Poets Department (Addendum Edition) out now!"

I can't really imagine where else she can go using only Jack and Aaron again. I hope this album isn't just Midnights part 2.

 

Aaron isn't even on midnights, just a couple 3am tracks. Jack has worked on 5-6 vault different albums with her plus re records, I have no reason to think this will sound like midnights other than recency bias

It's honestly kinda funny that entire billboards across the country for a wordsearch simply spell out the name of a song we already know

yeah most likely, still very funny to me how much went into just telling us which of the songs is the single

 

I’m excited. I do hope I like it more than Midnights, an album with several highs but as a whole kind of loses me. Worried about the runtime but stoked it’s Jack and Aaron again.

 

She tipped off a video, not what song it would be. But everyone kind of figured it out already.
