DC’s *social* culture is uppity and white washed, that part’s true, the people there kind of suck. It’s a heavily diverse city but the people who can actually afford to live there and go out multiple nights a week there are mostly government-related workers (or people who work for companies like Raytheon that sell shit to the government, etc) who have been homogenized to talk mostly about work and career and money and spend all of their social energy networking.

It’s a big enough city where I still found my people, but I don’t vibe with THE CITY the way I do in Baltimore.

But as far as EXPERIENCES you can have there it is an incredibly diverse place to go have fun if you’re bringing people with you that you like. Its museums, art, parks, international food restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and random attractions are all top tier. Music scene has options but is admittedly pretty tough for low budget rock bands like mine, the days of Dischord records punk rock are LONG gone… but the trade off is it has an incredible jazz, classical, flamenco, concerto piano etc scene for an American city haha. More of a “high art” city in general and you’d come to Baltimore or Richmond for more underground shit.
