ultimately I want them to do whatever it is that they want to do, as I feel like they have done for pretty much their whole career to great success. but TIW is 100% my favorite Paramore record yet and bare minimum their most accomplished in terms of musicianship imo. I understand that it is a polarizing record for their fans but I fully believe they nailed what they were going for and I personally adore the direction they went in and would love more in that vein. but I also loved After Laughter and would be into more from them in that lane. or something entirely new! they’re an incredible group of musicians and I have full faith that they won’t put out anything that is at the very least “good”.

Definitely, even if I don't like TIW as much as the others, they clearly nailed what they were going for.

This Is Why is my least favorite album of theirs but its still good. Just shows how strong their discography is

Yeah I mean it's pretty clear they did exactly what they wanted and nailed the sound they were going for, I just simply don't think the songs are as good as on other albums

    Assume It's A Bit

This is Why has 2-3 songs that I would consider some of the band's best and I pretty much never listen to the rest

might be in the supposed minority here that thinks TIW is one of their best. to each their own, but there's no way in hell i rank AWKIF and Riot! above this (even though there are incredibly strong songs on both, and obviously Riot! was a huge moment in the genre)

    just one of those ghosts

Totally agree with that first part—they're a band who I absolutely want to just follow their whims and see where it leads them (even if every one is not catered to me as a subjective listener). It will still be good, and creatively more healthy for them in the long term.

I’ll always have a sweet spot for AWKIF and Riot! even though it’s not their best work. After Laughter would be their peak for me. Gonna be tough to top that.

i always find it funny that when my partner and i met, he knew of Paramore but didn't listen to them, only to have Cinnamon pop up in his Spotify Discover Weekly and never put two and two together that that's THE Hayley Williams

  17. I don't really listen to anything from before After Laughter as regularly anymore unless I'm feeling nostalgic. I think I like Petals for Armor the most, but This is Why is still very good.

Every Paramore album is so different I wouldn't ever be too worried about them sticking with one specific style or sound.

  20. They get better and better with each album, so I’m stoked with whatever comes next. Can’t say I’ll be upset by more mewithoutYou vibes, haha, but I want them to be whatever band they want to be

    Sending my love

Hayley just posted on her instagram yesterday that “AL is her favorite child”. Usually artists almost always say their most recent record is their favorite, so the fact that TIW isn’t her favorite seems a little telling to me.

I get it though, AL is supreme.

Yeah, that's by far my favorite Paramore record. The blend of pep in its step along with its lyrical tone is just fabulously executed.

AL is my favorite and it’s not close

Hayley is correct. After Laughter is peak (for now at least).

the only paramore album I'd consider truly all killer no filler (s/t is mighty close though)
