  1. feel like the maintenance is significantly more. Gotta stain/paint it every few years so it doesn’t look like shit. Falls apart eventually. Vinyl is more expensive but will last forever and maintenance free other than maybe power washing it every other year.

A mud room of all things lol.

although, I suppose I see that being more useful the more snowy and cold your area is, cause mud and slush is a big annoying thing about snowy winters

Honestly? The chain link fence at the house I was renting before never had an issue from the storms. It's always been wooden ones. They weren't as bad with the metal posts but they were basically useless with the wooden ones.

  7. Would also recommend a bigger gate than you think you need so you can get larger items in and out of your yard. Did a double gate and glad I did.

Oh duh, also pets. Mud rooms are super useful when you have a dog; every time you take a dog out you’re getting outside shit tracked in your house otherwise lol

Yeah this was a ridiculous mistake the renter of the house made. Thing was fucking useless.

Things that add value: Bedrooms, bathrooms, additional storage and a fully fenced yard.
Things that add less value: "Fun" items that only a select percentage of buyers care about.

It'll really come down to how much the privacy of a wooden fence is worth to you with the added upkeep.

we have an old shed in the backyard that I still haven't gone through since we moved in. I've had it locked up but I really need to clean it out. mostly just trash in there but i think it's just sitting on dirt which is annoying as hell

when we were shopping, so many houses in our price range had garages converted into additional bedrooms and it pissed me off so much

The amount of people in my neighborhood that don't use their garage for their cars bothers me an ungodly amount.

Every neighborhood I've been to in North Texas is like it. I genuinely don't get it and I can't stand it.

Can't see shit because they park on the street by the stop signs all the time.

I'd prob use a garage if it was connected to the house, that could be cool for rainy nights, but otherwise can totally see converting it into an office haha

Having a garage in a city would be sweet though, imagine never street parking and never being exposed to like car theft or random parking tickets cause you forgot about the weekly street sweeping or your friends getting towed cause they didn’t know where to park or people side swiping your mirrors etc
