Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

I’ve liked a couple of songs I’ve heard, but the fanbase and social media I’ve seen in the past of them has made me not check them out more, I know I should get over it

Can’t remember if I’ve listened to HM before, I think I have and was indeed turned off by the vocals, but also I loathe that band name. Gross combo of words.

yeah I’m surprised how much I enjoy them as I don’t listen to really any other bands in the genre.

I get them and Free Throw mixed up all the time, I’ve given both bands a listen and nothing really grabbed me

Dead! is better than Welcome To The Black Parade but no one wants to admit it

Well, Sleep is the best song in their catalogue, so that doesn’t matter

I think most people with taste would agree Sleep > Dead! > Welcome to the Black Parade

Their best song isn't on that album though.

The Beach Boys might have the largest disparity in perception of how people who don't follow them view them and how their die hard fans view them in all of popular music.

Like normal people just view the Beach Boys as almost like the Jimmy Buffet of California Boomer music to sip daiquiris and lay on the beach to, but then you talk to a die hard Beach Boys fan and they'll wax on for 45 minutes about how Brian Wilson scientifically formulated every complex harmony and channeled cosmic sounds from the ether.

I mean the material that excites people is nearly 60 years old at this point.

I dislike "features" on songs. When I listen to a band, I don't want to hear a different band's vocalist.

    Edit: To clarify, rock songs.

the worst is when you know they made the song before the feature got added/approved and it feels extremely out of place

there are some absolutely amazing features out there that add a huge amount to the song they're on.

A well-conceived feature can absolutely elevate a song.

Best features imo are the more subtle ones like Anthony Green on Keepsake by B&C just doing backing vocals. You wouldn't really know its him unless you were told or saw his name in the track list.

I tend to not like it when a feature is just an extra verse that gets slapped 2/3 of the way into a song.

grateful all the fucking time Supporter

Features rule. Except when handled poorly, of course, but I don’t think I feel that way that often?

Maybe I’m biased because I grew up listening to 90s Christian pop group dc Talk, but a song having more than one voice is almost always an asset to me.
