the best thing about Paramount+ - and the main reason i subscribe - is Evil, and they're prematurely ending it this summer, so that's already one point against them (combined with Showtime losing most new A24 films and the fact that the app rarely ever works on my Chromecast).

 

Paramount+ has soooo much content behind the Showtime add-on paywall. And it feels like it always the stuff I want to watch

 

yup. take away Evil, a good chunk of Showtime shows, the A24 films, and some previously-released content in the Paramount film library, and there's not a lot of unique content the service offers to convince me to stay. like unless you're a huge Taylor Sheridan or Star Trek fan, it doesn't really feel worth it.

Tokyo fucking Vice man. What a way to finish the season

 

Watched the first two episodes of Tokyo Vice yesterday and hated it haha. So boring with an unlikeable, bland main character that does nothing to make you care about him

Then I found Loot on Apple TV Plus and I fucking loooove it

 

You have to watch it long enough and then you care about him, but there's many more supporting characters that are involved enough to take your attention away from Jake

 

I thought Tokyo Vice was a spinoff show from the Fast & Furious movies.

Just watched Hell or High Water again - fuck, what an amazing film

 

It's definitely a slow burn, but as @Ferrari333SP said there are so many different characters with their own arcs that intermingle with each other that Jake just turns into THEIR supporting character. S2 has been firing on all cylinders and so far it's one of my favorite shows of the year.


Edit: haven't seen the finale yet, will later tonight. STOKED.

 

I'm very curious about Ripley. Heard some high praise from a couple critics a while ago. Never saw the Matt Damon movie.

 

The movie is decent.

 

I’m gonna be done with yet another modern family run soon and need a light sitcom to just throw on without much thought. I’m torn between a rewatch of something reliable or starting something new.
