Josh Allen's WR1 is Curtis Samuel, which is still better than Herbert's. Mahomes's WR1 is either in the ER or sending people to it so pick your poison there. Lamar's still gets handed the kids menu at restaurants. I want to go hard and trade up for one of the big three but the notion that we are in desperation and MUST take a WR at 17 if we can't trade up is saying a lot about what we think of Trevor*

That doesn't mean "You need a WR1" but does mean that you need to have a well rounded passing attack and I don't think that's unreasonable. Naming Josh Allen is kinda unfair cuz he's played basically 0 games with Curtis Samuel as WR1 and we haven't seen Herbert's offense in its current state as well (and also saw Herbert's team with a losing record prior to this upcoming season). Lamar and Mahomes are fair though Mahomes is the GOAT and incomparable.

But yeah I guess that's a different convo

Yeah and that's the other thing Matt's been getting at repeatedly this offseason

Mahomes has Kelce, Purdy has Kittle, Lamar has Andrews, going down the list all these teams who are in continuous contention opportunities in the current era have a star TE and yet people repeatedly undervalue the position

 

Oh yes we still need to address it. I just think we also need to calm down lol.

Local media who kinda hinted at Diggs in weeks past also hinted Caserio may be looking to make another splash in the draft and I cant stop thinking it could be Bowers if he falls

Ideally, no team should ever be “desperate” to draft a certain position early because the odds of that player hitting and making a meaningful difference are not great, which is part of my issue with the Eagles offseason so far.

But with the Jags, they’ve paid meaningful money to Kirk, Davis, and Jones. Is that a good WR corps? No, I don’t think so. Does that mean they are desperate to draft a WR at 17? No, I don’t think so.

There are improvements to be made at the position for the Jags, no doubt, but I don’t think they have one of the worst WR corps in the league that they would be desperate to take one at 17.

Gabe Davis at the very least let's us call run plays without giving it away beforehand lol. Last year it was literally just "oh Tim Jones is in? OK, they're running it that way"
