Local news outlets in Pittsburgh reporting that a music festival is coming to the city this fall "From the same producers that run Bonnaroo and Lollapalooza". And that more details will be announced soon.

all shows should have free water and this isn't just because the water at the Grouplove show cost me $6

I’ve always appreciated Coachella for having $2 water but they can’t have people dying in the desert lol

I guess maybe it depends on the venue but a lot of the local venues around me have self serve water coolers at the bar with stacks of dixie cups next to them.

    Are You Watching Closely?

Yeah I noticed that a few years ago and thought "where the hell was THAT when I was younger?" Best thing we had was the trough (sp?) at Warped!

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

Most of the shows I’ve been to recently had this

it's mainly the live nation venues that serve liquid death instead of regular water

Most of the indie venues I've been to recently (including the one I work at) serve free water, but the Live Nation venues only hand out free water to the folks at the barricade, and otherwise you have to pay for it at the bar.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- any venue that has a concession area with a soda fountain can dispense free water. You just gotta ask for it.

Oh yeah the trick is to ask for tap water

Or a cup then go to a water fountain or sink

The trick is to buy a 24 pack of water year round in the trunk/back hatch of your car.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

The trick is simply chugging a gallon of water before doors and drinking your own piss periodically throughout the show

I was already assuming that "Wonder" fest at Hartwood wasn't coming back considering it was scheduled for the end of May, so this is welcome news. Also hoping this explains why Pixies were inexplicably left off the Pittsburgh date of the Modest Mouse/Cat Power tour.

Spoke to a manager (on accident, didn't ask for them directly over this lol) at Irving plaza (live nation). He said they only put out the water cooler and cups for "heavy mosh shows" and they don't because "the bartenders work off tips" kinda bs but they will sell more and thus make more. The one show I do remember it out at was mom jeans or something so idk lol

You'll also have more luck just asking for a cup of ice since that takes a bartender about 1 second rather than 10 to pour the water. Fill with sink water from the bathroom, ice is needed if they have the automatic faucets that are pre set to warm or hot.

That doesn’t work when u have to take the train to nyc for a lot of shows when CT gets skipped lol

  21. That's clearly not a consistent policy bc the one show I went to there with coolers was like an alternative/hyperpop vibe.

John // OC now, OH forever.

I get STRONG “industry plant” vibes with her. She was formerly known as ROSE with a completely different sound and now here we are with a Millionaires knockoff.

To be fair, she only released one song under the name ROSE and was pretty candid about the fact she decided to switch directions after that because she felt uncomfortable with the politics of the active rock scene.

The term "industry plant" specifically refers someone who's attempting to appear indie and organic despite having undisclosed backing/management from the get go. It doesn't really apply in this case, because Hannah's always been upfront about who her collaborators are and has always been signed by Hopeless Records.

Idk, it just feels really weird that when artists (especially female artists) get popular or change their sound "too quickly," people assume there must be hidden agenda or conspiracy.

"Industry Plant" is code for "Female Musician."
