In hindsight, it probably wasn't great for his mental health getting that back tattoo and putting all that pressure on himself to be on the same level as Neymar and Ronaldo..

 

Yeah, I hate it. I always hated Nike, for no particular reason. Adidas and Germany just belong together. Who cares if Nike offers double the money? If we really needed a new outfitter, I wished it was at least Puma.

Depending on what Tonali bet on, I would hope the FA see this as an extension of the addiction he's already serving a ban for. Adding a significant extra ban at this point would feel like he's received a double punishment for the same offence.

However, I do think it depends what he bet on. It's already been suggested he bet on himself/his team to win (which I think happened at Milan too). If he did anything which can be even remotely construed as match fixing, then it's hard to be at all sympathetic with whatever the FA do.

 

I assume he won’t get an additional ban, it will probably just be folded into the one ban. However this did make me wonder just a little bit

Oh yeah absolutely! Just one of those side eye moments you know. It doesn’t even make sense once you think about it even further. If he was spot fixing, why wait until then?
