You just know that was the closest they could get to calling it “Tell All Your Friends” without a cease & desist

 

Ohhhhh yeah, I think we talked about this. That was a baller lineup for the time. Still wild that Papa Roach had to play BEWEEEN System Of A Down and Korn.

 

A proper fest here is all I’ve been asking for since we lost riot and warped, and of course it falls on one of the maybe three weekends of the year I can’t go lmao

Hope it does well and becomes an annual thing

 

this venue is really cool, it’s where they used to hold Wayhome. Sounds like they’ll be camping options which is nice:

really hope this festival does well, but festivals in the Toronto area seem to never do well. It’s only an hr north of the city but people in the “Toronto bubble” would have you think it’s like a 3 day journey to get there. I couldn’t believe how many people passed on Wayhome because of the hr drive outside the city.

 

So many people in Toronto don’t have a licence. I only know two people who actually live in Toronto and have a licence. Everyone else I know that has one lives outside of the city so I kinda get it. It’s not easily accessible my transit

 

I always get mad when festivals don’t make it obvious where it takes place but then I saw Billy Talent headlining and was like oh it’s Canada

TOP are still an arena act? I thought the last two records kind of flopped? Have they had a crossover hit since Heathens?

 

Nah but still a fairly rabid fanbase. The one thing that kinda hurts them is they have very limited media presence/critical discourse which hinders their profile slightly.

 

Their fanbase is super strong. So even if an album flops, they still fill up areas

 

Also I still hear TOP on the radio pretty frequently so there are probably enough casual listeners to fill in the gaps if tickets are discounted at all
