I bought the unlock keys for the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes because it was cheap and I wanted to do goofy shit with the infinite ammo weapons

 

microtransactions are and have been a reality in the industry for an extremely long time it’s only really invasive in my opinion when it comes to non cosmetic upgrades in multiplayer games, being able to buy items in a single player game is just like okay don’t buy them and just play the game? like sorry I fail to see the issue outside of the obvious general negative feelings toward microtransactions which again clearly aren’t going anywhere. is it giving capcom a pass to point out their games are absolutely incredible despite the microtransactions? and if it is who cares?

 

devil may cry 5 had the same type of stuff for purchase and it didn’t matter because devil may cry 5 is one of the best hack and slash games ever released and that fact doesn’t depend on indulging in the cash shop

Oh crap I totally forgot about red orbs lol. But yeah, like the stuff is so inconsequential and in the sea of micro transaction filled games THIS is what people get their pitchforks out for?! MTX is here to stay unfortunately, and sure you're allowed to have your complaints and opinions but c'mon, save the faux outrage for something TRULY predatory.

 

yeah mtx sucks but when a full complete finished game (performance issues aside) has them it doesn’t fall under predatory practice and is just a sucky reality of the industry. plus the people at capcom who decide a game is going to have mtx aren’t the same people actually developing the game, many times it comes from marketing long after the devs have done their design so the idea that they made fast travel scarce in order to sell port crystals is not only a misunderstanding of how fast travel works in these games but it’s also just not true yet it’s all people can talk about on twitter rn

 

Every Falcom RPG I have played has MTX in a similar fashion, I like having that option tbh i've bought some shit lol

 

I have no problem running games at 30 fps lol maybe I’ll be fine

 

The real problem games imo are like Fortnite and Roblox that try to make you to spend money because it’s free, ditto mobile games.

 

yeah but what do you expect? if a games free they have to generate money somehow but that’s why I rarely if ever play free to play games (besides Pokémon go which I have spent real money on)

Yeah I don't see a problem with the Fortnite business model it works and they devote a ton of time to evolving and always changing the game, that's the reason it's still so relevant

 

A nice touch that I REALLY like on DD2 is the unexplored areas on your map still show the pathways that exist in those areas which make it great for planning your route.

 

$5 songs on Fortnite festival

$10 skins on Fortnite racing

$15-$25 legos in Lego Fortnite

Those games are popular with kids though and there’s all kinds of stories about kids stealing the parents’ credit card and charging mad dollars for V-Bucks or Robucks. They intentionally market that FOMO towards children and get them obsessed with spending money.

Roblox is more guilty of this because I know many, I mean SEVERAL adults (including me) who play and enjoy and spend money on fortnite. Yeah kids play too but I know too many adults spending money on it (I have) to fault them for charging money. Roblox is a kids game and they absolutely prey on them for money. And free labor.

Also a kid stealing their parents credit card isn’t the fault of a video game sorry I knew that was wrong when I was a kid and was spending money playing WoW (I still stole my parents card to cover my character transfers but I knew it was wrong when I was doing it). Kids have been stealing money from their parents for centuries, when our parents were growing up it was for beer and cigarettes

 

We can't act like when we were kids we weren't begging our parents to buy us stuff because fortnite skins didn't exist yet

 

Side note apparently the current season of fortnite is awesome, I haven’t played in a couple months might jump back in soon
