Dope ass night of wrestling, that women’s tag street fight was fucking great and edge v Christian is always so good

 

As good as all of it was; that was a STRONG argument that a 3hr Dynamite would suck. Still had to fill the extra hour with jobber matches, and I wouldnt love the odds of Edge/Christian being as hot at the end of hour 3.

Rampage definitely works better as its own 1hr showcase of lesser used people

 

The same guy behind me who yelled something about hangman being gay for having pink on his tights at Revolution also repeatedly yelled “sleepy joe” at Samoa Joe every time he was down in the triple threat. Go away.

 

AEW was super fun for 3 hours last night. My favorite thing? The through line was WOMENS WRESTLING LFG!!

it's been so long since I played 2K idk how that even works

 

I was a pretty big advocate for putting the title on Swerve given how hot he's been, but the arrival of Will Ospreay, and the way he's taken to every single aspect of the company so far, has me changing my mind pretty quickly. I just think AEW should be completely all in on him, and to me, an 8-month reign of terror from Samoa Joe culminating with Ospreay's big win in Wembley is a far more compelling story than him beating Swerve, given where he sits right now.

Strickland definitely feels like a victim of circumstance at this point. I also wish he'd just stop alluding to murdering his opponents, but, alas.

Another excellent show last night. What a three week run (and next week looks really good, too.)

I wouldn't be surprised, and obviously the match would be incredible, but man, that would be a bummer. I don't think AEW has ever had someone who flashes this quickly as a potential focal point that elevates the whole company. He's what everyone wanted Omega to be when they launched.

 

just felt like when I was watching ospreay's promo on dragon last night, talking about doing the things he couldn't do, just felt like it might lead to okada/ospreay this year

 

I mean, I hope you're right about the match and wrong about the stakes/location, haha.

 

ospreay is a huge tna guy though so him beating one of the legends for the belt in wembley would be a big reason why he chose to sign to AEW. i can happily say that their roster and programming is currently at the point where i'm finally cool with not overanalyzing their direction and just settling in. 2023 was a year filled with huffing the copium in between ppvs so whatever they go with im so down for.

 

Also, the arena set up felt weird last night. They had a full building, but the place echoed more than their empty buildings do. The stage was super far from the ring and the ramp way was wide as hell. Not a complaint or anything, just weird.

I looked up the venue to see if it was necessitated by something, but it just looks like a regular 'ole ice arena.
