Thanks for sharing this. A few on here I've never heard of that I've written down to check out, and it reminded me to watch Triangle, which I think I'm going to do tonight. Also, I love what they chose as their number one. Absolutely one of my favourite movies of all time

 

Why are we still denying the importance of Rob Zombie's films!!!!!!! Insert the claps in there if you want for added effect

 

Session 9 is great except for some laughable David Caruso moments in bad acting

 

Sometimes that's scarier than the main content of the film.

 

The kid in The Babadook stressed me out more at times than the actual monster.

Also Session 9 is great.

Damn there are some good movies on that 2000s list. And I have seen so many more from that time period than the others, which makes sense, but for shame Silas, you can do better than that.

That is a pretty cool list. I'm surprised to see Jennifer's Body so high. The Ring, which ushered in the entire JHorror remake sub genre in the US, is too low imo.

 

Rise of Leslie Vernon is so good, just a great subversion of horror

 

Never even heard of Splinter that description from that list makes it sound great.

 

well after reading that list I'm about to watch Bubba Ho-Tep. sounds cool

 

honeymoon was pretty solid. the script seemed really stiff, though, and i'm not sure how filled out the secondary characters were supposed to have been but some of the minor story parts didn't really cohere. still, a very interesting... thing. fairly predictable but nonetheless intense once it gets to it. certainly a metaphor for rape and a following pregnancy or abortion... right? excluding the actual act of killing her husband, it seems very straightforward - invasive abuse which occurred in an isolated place late at night, a secret a woman hides from her husband, bleeding and bruising around the pelvic region, a sense of lost autonomy and identity. i feel almost certain that must be it, but i'm hesitant because it's a rather harsh thing to read into a film if it's not correct.
Possession, on the other hand... what on earth? i loved the horror - that subway scene, the apartment scene with the woman and her lover, jesus - but good lord was the hammy acting off-putting. i've lost most of my taste for cult films that make their claims by that, which i feel bad for, but it's just so unenjoyable for me.

i usually just find it on a file host (not torrent). i think i watched it here

 

And finally, best of the 2010s. This list may be more divisive. For one, I did not like The Sacrament.

I kinda loved The Sacrament

 

I like The Innkeepers and The House of the Devil, but The Sacrament didn't do it for me. Look forward to whatever Ti West does, though.

 

I still need to see The House of the Devil. I remember not being sold on The Innkeepers.

 

Hmm 3 Rob Zombie movies in the top 15 huh? I guess I should finally check out Devil's Rejects.

 

Man, just when I think I haven't seen any decent horror movies lately, lists like these come out and I'm reminded how many good ones there were/are.

 

should I watch Them, Maniac, or Don't Breathe tonight

 

Maniac is awesome, Elijah Wood is great.
