They never released the seats I was hoping for so I decided to sit out the trip to Boston today. Looking forward to Mercedes' debut, though.

 

i do think the recent trend of putting guys in asap after they pass is slightly misguided, i think giving it to 5-10 years is best just because you then stand to introduce Bray's work to folks who otherwise might not have been watching at the time he performed. happy to see him in obv

It's 8:00:00pm ET, for the first time ever, the show starts in pitch black...the crowd hushed with anticipation, and then, the video rolls

 

Think Im more excited than even Punk (partly because I wasnt watching WWE during Punk's run), both because Sasha/Bayley at Takeover: Brooklyn was basically my reintroduction to good wrestling, and because if she does well, it fixes AEW's most glaring weakness.

 

Her debut will undoubtedly be cool, but I don't know that wrestling has ever made me feel quite as much as Punk's first dance return. No way this tops that, for me, anyway.

Loving the fact that the time I decide to start doing quiz night on Wednesdays, two huge debuts happen. Only my luck. I swear to god, if Hurricane somehow shows up I'm going to be fucking pissed.

 

No Toni segment announced for tonight. Wonder if they are holding off on that feud for a bit

Edge's 2020 Royal Rumble return and subsequent AEW debut will always be my biggest moments but Punk's AEW debut is definitely up there.
