I had that same thoughts and my mom asked me to take her to the show. 75% of the audience were moms in their 40s - 60s, her show was amazing and my mom now wants to go again and bring all her friends to see it live because she wants her friends to experience it.

it’s a mom crowd and she tours with acts moms love (Pat Benatar, Brandi Carlisle, etc). Pink is veryyyyyy successful on adult contemporary radio.

My initial thought was "are AAF that popular that The Ataris would be support? You'd think it'd be the other way around." But according to Spotify, AAF has 5x the monthly listeners. I'm flabbergasted.

Monthly listeners will be inflated for a band like AAF because Smooth Criminal was a massive hit and is sure to still be on a ton of playlists.

i wonder what it would look like if they took "smooth criminal" out of half the playlists its on. that being said, the ataris are only opening up for three of those dates - two at the beginning and one at the end - which like, thats weird to call out.

    Things have changed.

The types of venues the tour is hitting is proof that no one cares about AAF either.

I'm sure the same could be said for The Ataris if Boys of Summer was taken out of playlists too. In fact I'm pretty sure BOS was a bigger Top 40 hit than Smooth Criminal was.

Unfortunately the only date remotely close to me I'll be out of town. But I will say I saw Alien Ant Farm at Bamboozle back in like 2008 and it was actually one of the highlights of the weekend.

Both bands only really had radio success with covers, but I feel like The Ataris had the bigger recognition in the scene in general. I'm seeing them on Saturday opening for MxPx and that makes total sense to me. Opening for AAF.. doesn't. Just my opinion..

Neither band is popular in 2024. That's why there are venues with "Bar and Grill" on the admat. Really splitting hairs on this argument.

Love when a band makes it looked like a stacked tour but really only one band of the three supports is on each show lol That being said it’s cool to see Cliffdiver get on more tours. Band rules.
