I thought it would either be this or Spider-Verse. I’m glad this won.

 

I was hoping Miyazaki would give a speech but of course he didn’t attend lol

 

He definitely could not care less about the Oscars.

 

I love Spider-Verse but the right film won.

 

That’s respect right there!

 

Recently started with Ghibli, but I've really enjoyed Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke, Castle in the Sky, Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, and Totoro. I think those are all Miyazaki (and the order I watched in). The Boy and the Heron is terrific as well but I don't think it's available anywhere yet.

 

The Boy and the Heron should be one of the last ones you see

 

Same with The Wind Rises. Maybe even Ponyo too. Those seem to look back on his career.

Studio Ghibli Exec Teases Hayao Miyazaki's Next "Nostalgic" Film

"I'd tell him, 'Make some for future projects. Only making them for your past stuff is boring.' He's making some now though." Goro explained. "I don't know if it'll actually be for his next film, but it's looking like an action-adventure-type movie, nostalgic and reminiscent of the old days."

I’d prefer something more laid back like Totoro, but it’s Miyazaki. He’ll deliver.

 

Everything now is just extra. I will take anything I get from him if he has a hand in its creation.

 

Goro has a point though. How dope it would be to get a Miyazaki film set in the future

 

I’ve been listening to the soundtrack all day. Ready for that digital release.

 

New music for the weekend

 

It needs to be the 25th so I can finally watch this. This is torture

 

not Miyazaki but adjacent. animation looks phenomenal

the dub sounds rough unfortunately with some odd voice casting decisions. British accents? will still def watch but hope there's a sub version
