Leverkusen's first loss of the season being against Qarabag would be peak Europa.

Damn. Strasbourg ultras have put out a statement about their owners, BlueCo (Clearlake/Boehly).

"Le Racing is now little more than a financial asset, under the bosom of an investment fund that already owns another club. We have said it before and we will say it again: Multi-club ownership kills football and we will fight it! Two transfer windows have also passed and, powerless, we have noted that we have been robbed of all of our most experienced players – that, to the profit of up-and-coming young players."

"We expect an immediate change in the sporting policy in order to ensure the durability of the club in the elite. We wish for the club to be sold to a new owner, capable of fully taking into consideration what RC Strasbourg Alsace represents, capable of managing it independently and sovereignly and also capable of respecting its history, its values and its supporters.

BlueCo out! To all of those who love RCSA, we will see you on 31st March, when we face Rennes, at 15:00 to march together towards the stadium and protest our rejection of BlueCo."

Michael Edwards returning to Liverpool would be as important as the next managerial appointment.

Probably varies based on where you are so others will probably see differently

Based purely on what I see when I go out, I’d say the usual. Guinness, Budweiser (piss water), Stella, San Miguel, Carlsberg, and Amstel are the most popular, but amongst younger people (under 40) it’s changing to brands like Corona, Madri, Pravha, Peroni, Desperados, and lots of cider.

Madri is shocking. Hate it. Though I say that as a Heineken drinker. It’s the only one of those big brand lagers I drink when I drink socially. If I’m drinking to enjoy the taste I usually go with a local craft beer.

I tend to stick to San Miguel out of the major brands on tap but, like Nick, if I want to thoroughly enjoy a "session" I'll try local craft favourites of wherever I am. It must be said I'm more of a Rum drinker, though.

No one drinks Boddington? I was a young 18 y/o American tourist when I first encountered it years ago, but I remember having a love fest with it.

Are professional refs allowed to talk about which clubs they personally support or no? I'm about to submit a question to this speaking event that's hosted by a ref and I want to ask her if it wont put her in an uncomfortable spot.

do you remember the beer I kept drinking when we went out? it wasn’t Guinness but it was dark

Don't think I've seen Boddingtons in about 10 years. Genuinely might have gone out of business. Same with things like Magnet. Those type of pint are generally though of as "old man" drinks though, I would say - old men sitting in the corner of a Weatherspoons or the local Working Mans/ Conservative Club.

New stouts struggle here unsurprisingly. Beamish, Murphy’s (in the south) and Guinness have the market locked up. Craft and small run stouts do ok, but even then you’ll only ever see them in small craft beer pubs. When Wetherspoons started opening here they thought they’d get away without Guinness and quickly realised that wasn’t going to happen.

I suppose it makes sense. I loved the Guinness experience, but that other stout was much better tasting.

Brew Dog is a big thing, for sure, but there’s been a bit of a push back on them because the founder/owner was outed as being horrifically abusive to staff. Still think it’s pretty popular though because it’s sort of like a middle class Wetherspoons.

Tbh, I prefer cider, rum, and whiskey to beer anyway.

last time I was in Germany I was there for work, we finished up at about 11am so it was too early to heavy on the beer. We decided to go for a light grapefruit beer. Shit was fucking divine.

now I don’t know if it actually tasted nice or it was the great weather and drinking on company money but yeah it got us through the day
